this has probably been asked so please bear with me. We arrive on Saturday night and have to stay at the Hyatt in MCO airport. Our reservations for OKW don't begin until Sunday. Can we still take the DME from the airport to OKW? and we just get our luggage from the carousel ourselves and take it to the DME? thanks so much

Yep. No issues with what you want to do. Plenty of people do it all the time. Just call DME and tell them you’re arriving Sunday morning – you can give an approximate time you’ll be down at the counter.

Make sure not to use your yellow tags on checked bags, or else you won’t be able to pull them from the carousel – and they’ll likely get redirected somewhere in the airport because you won’t technically have a valid reservation until the next morning.

The direct number for DME is 866 599-0951. Don't call Disney reservations. They won't be able to help you and you're likely to be told that you can't do it.

Technically, you don't really have to make a reservation with DME for your arrival, although it's helpful to DME if you do. You can just show up at the DME desk with your Magic Band (and your luggage) on Sunday. They'll scan your band and get you on the right bus. It's no big deal.

Make an advance reservation for Magical Express. Print-screen it if you can. Technically that has been one of the airport authority rules that permitted DME to exist. If you happen to be one of the zero point six nine percent of the guests whose tax returns, er, Magical Express appearances, get audited and you can't even show an envelope on which you scrawled the name and city of the telephone reservationist you talked to, then you might be denied the bus ride.

Before calling DME, pick a flight, any flight, any airline, arriving in Orlando roughly at the time you will be down at the DME welcoming area on resort check in day, ready to go to Disney. The reservationist may or may not ask for that.

While you may well win an argument (here down at the welcoming area regarding advance DME reservations), you would save precious minutes of vacation time avoiding the argument.

I am doing the same thing. Getting in super, super late on a Saturday night (actually technically Sunday by the time we arrive!) I decided it'd be rather nice to just go straight to a bed in the airport rather than wait another 1-2 hours to get to my resort. I just used a flight # from an incoming flight early Sunday morning for DME.

thank you so much!!! yes, we have regular tags for our luggage as I know we'll need it over night and I don't want to the chance of it all being left in luggage holding somewhere in the airport. thanks again for all the replies, I really appreciate all the help and hints. :D

I've read Hyatt bell services can route your luggage to DME input area next morning. Bring your yellow DME tags.
