DME Question...Changing Reservation??

I currently have a DVC reservation for my family and my sister's family (2 studios) at AKV-Jambo House. On Wednesday, I am going to try and change it to a 2BR at the same resort while waitlisting a 2BR at BWV.

We have already booked our flights to Orlando and those are set. My sister and her family are currently scheduled to return home the day after we check out. She will be moving to a value resort for her last night and she knows that she will have to make her own DME reservation for her return to the airport.

If I book our DME now for our arrival, what will happen to it when we 1) change our reservation to a single 2BR instead of 2 studios; and/or 2) if the waitlist fills and we end up at a different resort? Will I need to rebook it or will it "transfer" automatically?

I want to book it ASAP so that I don't forget. But OTOH, I also don't want to have to keep calling back or e-mailing them every time our reservation changes.

Thanks!

Yes you should call to rebook. Depending on when your waitlist comes through you may not get luggage tags for the correct resort. So you can either collect your own luggage or give the folks at the DME desk your luggage claim tickets and they will claim them for you.

But you definantely need to call them otherwise you will not get picked up at the correct time at your new resort.

So I would make DME reservations for the room you currently have booked then call if your waitlist comes through as the information will not be relayed automatically for your DME bus ride.

As for changing from a studio to a 2br it will not have any effect on your DME as long as you are at the same resort. It only effects DME if you change resorts.

Book Magical Express for your check in date at your currently booked resort now.

No need to call in any changes until your final resort booking is confirmed or if your check in date changes.

If your desired resort room comes through after you started traveling to Orlando then you can change your DME ride to go to that resort when you get there.

You can write in changes on the yellow DME baggage tags if new ones with a changed resort don't arrive on time.

Wait until after you get there to make changes to your DME back to the airport.
