Okay I posted on the DME thread but I need to know now. We had planned to take DME. We arrive at 4:23 PM at MCO, going to Beach Club. We have dinner ressies at Akuershus for 6:55. What are my chances of making it with DME? We have never taken it before so I have no idea how long it takes, or could take. How much is an Uber? I have never taken one of those either! Thanks.

How much is Über: see rideguru.com or the Über app for estimates.

Will you make it via DME: Allow 70-90 minutes from stepping into the terminal to stepping off the bus at your resort. So, yes, if you plane lands on time and you don't dawdle.

I have 3 kids with me so going super quick isn't always an option lol.

What are the ages of the children? You might not be able to Uber if you need car seats. Unless you’re bringing your own.

almost 3, 7 and almost 8. I thought Uber has car seats?

Some Über drivers have one car seat. You would need to specifically request one of these.

The dinner at Norway is such a special treat that I would reschedule the dinner rather than risk not making it. Chances of afternoon thunderstorms in the MCO area are quite high in September at 4 PM, and if you get delayed even a half-hour, you're going to be hard-pressed to make that dinner. You don't say whether you're flying non-stop or connecting, and if it's a connecting flight that presents additional opportunities for things to go wrong with the timing.

As Katie said above, Uber has some vehicles (in several classes) equipped with car seats. But that program is apparently being phased out, and not many cars still have car seats. I just checked MCO and there was only ONE UberX vehicle available with a car seat there. X with a car seat to BC would be about $45.

If you need more room than X, you will need to take Uber BlackSUV with a car seat (+/- $80), and there were none of those available when I checked.

Booking anything for arrival day is risky. I don't recommend booking anything that you don't want to miss within 5 hours of your scheduled arrival, regardless of how you plan on getting to the resort

You could book a car service. There are several that can provide car seats with prior notice. More expensive than Uber, but no gambling on whether a car with the right kind of seat will be available.

Are you going to have carry on bags? If you take uber/car service, do you plan to go to the hotel first and drop the bags? What if your flight is late?

Sorry, wouldn't chance it.

For our family this would be a stressful way to start a vacation. We would be worn out clock watching and worrying about every possible delay or time consuming hitch in plans. We've had flight delays and one Magical Express ride that took over 2 hours because the driver forgot a resort and had to backtrack. We usually stay at the Boardwalk and figure 4 hours from landing at MCO to walking up to the podium of a restaurant in Epcot.

If you really want to keep the Akershus reservation a car service would be the best option since DME would take anywhere from 60 - 90 minutes on average and uber/lyft/taxi might have a longer wait for one with a car seat. Do you need to leave carry ons at the Beach Club? If you have no carry ons or any need to stop at the Beach Club you can walk straight to the International Gateway. Norway is on the far side of World Showcase so hopefully you're not there on a Friday or Saturday night when you'll have to navigate through the F&W crowds (one of those time consuming hitches).

Many don't recommend making a dining reservation for arrival day unless you are willing to pay the $10 per person penalty if you miss the reservation. You could keep checking for a later reservation or one on a different day. Many have had luck with the Touring Plans reservation finder and there is a cancellation thread for September on the Dining Reservations board that you can subscribe to.
