Does it matter what type of resort you are staying at ?

:confused3DME still delivers to the room all your checked luggage if you are at a valie or moderate ?:confused3

I would assume always delivered to your room at a deluxe - you pay for it with your room price:rotfl: (no offence for deluxe people - we are one of them, now trying a moderate - money issues)

The value resorts, not sure about the moderates, doesn't really have bell services. They have CMs who deliver bags to the rooms. I'm not sure if they deliver once an hour or twice an hour. There is a delay between when your bag arrives at a value resort and when it gets delivered to your room. The time I stayed in POP I had to wait for my bags. I have no idea how long, I went to a park.

DME is a free service. I can't see Disney spending the money to program the system to send guests text messages.

Thanks - maybe we can request a text message at POFQ.
We will try for it.

Per the poll, sounds like DME luggage arrives in your room in 4 hours or less 75% of the time. :goodvibes

DH may still want to collect our luggage and bring it with us to the DME bus. We would tip the driver $2 per bag (or $8 total). We arrive on a Saturday at the end of June. A very busy day for DME and MCO, I would guess.

Since we have to drop off our luggage 3 hours before our flight home, which is around 11 AM - that means done with our luggage at 7:30 AM , so it can be in the lobby area by 8 AM.
Maybe we will get a town car back to MCO, so we can have our luggage till a 9 AM pick-up time.
We go home on a Tuesday, so I do not think MCO will be terribly busy.

I wouldn't cut that close. Sometimes there's quite a line at the RAC desk.

If your flight leaves at 11:00, a 9:00 pickup time is too late. I wouldn't be comfortable with anything later than 8:30. You might want to take a look at this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2771918

Pop is where I have had to wait the longest for all luggage delivery. With DME it was about 5 hrs after I checked in. Their luggage assistence system is the big reason I handle all my luggage myself there. It is not a quick or efficient service.

I hate to come off as rude, but why in heaven's name do you think Bell Services/Luggage Assistence is going to text you when they get your luggage to your room??? Once word gets out that they are doing that, everyone is going to want to get a text. And that would be a nightmare for those workers.

As far as RAC goes....do you really need your checked luggage right up to the moment you depart the resort??? For an 11am flight, you'll get a p/u time of about 8ish...give or take 15 mins either way. You can keep whatever you really need in your carryon bags. I would recommend you get to RAC to check your bags and get your boarding passes around 7am....there seems to be little line at that time. You have to be out at the bus stop, ready to go, no less than 15 mins prior to your pickup time. The time you are given is the time the bus is scheduled to leave the resort.
A 9am pickup time is risky. If there is a traffic issue on the way, and/or the line at security is long, you could have a problem.
Really, pack up your bags, get them to RAC at 7 and put anything you have to have in your carryon bag.
