I've read that I need to call DME if I find my flight has changed ahead of time, but what if I discover my connecting flight to MCO is delayed during my travel day? Do I need to call DME from an airport, or just explain when I get there (late)? Just want to know what to do if it happens. Hopefully it won't! :goodvibes

I wouldn't worry too much. I've had my flights changed and I've forgotten to call them to make the change, and it has worked out just fine.

The reason they need your flight number is for scheduling buses and personnel. They will pull your bags with the yellow tags from whatever flight they come in on.

I would call them from the connecting airport if you are changed to a different connecting flight number and it will be coming in "Very" late (as in 2 or 3 in the morning) (Program the DME 800 # into your cell phone) Now, if you are delayed and coming in before 11pm, I wouldn't worry about it all as there will still be plenty of activity at DME.

Even if you don't call and arrive at 2 or 3 in the morning, your worst case scenario is that you will find a sign on the DME desk instead of a person with instructions and a phone # to call.

Thanks for posting this as I was wondering how these things woul dwork as we are flying standby and wondering what to do if for some reason we don't make our first flight and happen to get on a different one
