DME ever lost your luggage?

Hi everyone,
I am going to WDW Dec 8 and I will be staying at ASMovies because I arrive late in the evening. The next day I start my 4 day package at AKL. I will not be renting a car and relying on Disney transportation. My DME package arrived the other day but instead of sending my luggage to ASmo, it has my AKL date and destination. I called and the CM said that I could use those tags and my luggage would be waiting the next morning when I check in to get my tickets and room. I thought this would be easier than waiting late at night for my luggage and then having to get it to AKL the next day. Also it would (should :confused3 ) save me a little time int he morning. I would have all I needed for the first night in my carryon.
What I was wondering is...has anyone ever had their bags lost? I know they will keep your bags til your room is ready so you can go to the parks....but I was a little worried that somehow my luggage would get lost. Anyone ever go through this?
TIA

Well we arrived at OKW and our luggage went to Port Orleans, we never received it untill almost 10pm, we were checked into our room by 4pm.

Alternatively you can get ASM tags from DME and have the luggage sent there. When you get to your room call luggage services and ask them to hold your luggage and deliver it to your room at 7AM or whatever time you plan to get up....then when you check out just take it back to bell services and have them tag it for transfer to AKL... you can leave your carry on there too....then all of your luggage will be together and you will have seen it and know that everything arrived from the airport as planned....and you can access any of your stuff that you want.

Luggage transfers from resort to resort are done between 11AM and 3 or 4PM so it may take a little while to get your bags to AKL....but they will show up sooner or later!!

A much higher amount of luggage is lost or misdirected by airlines every day than has suffered the same fate with DME since that service began. Yes, occasionally (apparently) luggage will go to the wrong resort, or the wrong room at the right resort, but I've only read of ONE Guest's luggage actually getting lost - and about 5,000 Guests use DME every day, going on almost six months.
