Helloooooo Dis Members

Having Traveled to Disney many times, this will be first time using DME, (used to just getting on Mears transportation to hotel)....anyway this time Hubby and I are traveling with 9 familie members. And we are going to use the magical transport. So, I called and made a reservation, gave them info, flight times, flight numbers, etc, And I got the baggage tags in the mail. After reading the paperwork, and reading the boards, here's what I assume to be the correct directions.

1. Tag all the luggage with the Provided DME and check it at my departing airport.

2. upon arrival at MCO... If I don't see a Cast Member-- proceed downstairs to Level A and check-in with DME.

3. Give them the baggage claim checks.

4. Go to where we are directed by DME and get on bus...

5. Luggage appears within hours at hotel in room.

Did I leave anything out?

That is correct. You won't see a cast member now. They are not allowed on the main floor now.

DME (ME) welcoming area is on the A side lowest level, counter is in line with outside bus space #30.

The procedure is not much different from using Mears except for the option of using the yellow tags and not having to see or touch your luggage at Orlando Airport, and the location of the bus check in area.

Suggestion: Have a carry-on bag with stuff you want to use right away (swimsuit...) since you will probably get to the resort somewhat before the luggage does. You would bring this to the welcoming area and to the bus.

Are you referring to the yellow DME tags? If so, it's not necessary to provide your claim tags to the CM's at the welcome center. The yellow DME tags on the luggage should be all you need to do. A helpful hint, secure the tags with scotch tape after you place it on your luggage. I have heard stories of tags coming "unglued" so to speak ;) and coming off.

Well trip is over, and I must tell you that the DME was aok with me...the grandchildren got a big kick out of the mickey mouse hands the CM's were wearing....I hear tell via the grapevine around Disney that this will be a chargeable service after next year. Well if it is indeed going to be a chargeable service then the DME should be to and from....right now the luggage appears in your room --magically on the way into Disney....but on the way home...when you need it the most....you have to drag it out to the bus yourself...or hunt for a bellhop.:teeth:

Were you not on one of the participating airlines? We flew United and felt that being able to check in our luggage and get our boarding passes before we went to the parks on check-out day was the biggest perk.

Hahahahah funny made me laugh:rotfl2:

anyway...no we weren't on american on any one listed...we were on USAIR.....:guilty:

and as far as leaving goes the bus driver even asked us if we were sure we wanted to leave....I personally myself would like to stay, but I have to go back to work to pay for my Disney trips.......Ha! Maybe someday I will go acrossed the street in the team disney building and apply for a job as a character!

I've often told my husband....If Disney offered me a job...I'd sell the house and move.....
