DME and luggage

Yea, I didn't think the DME has that big of issue with luggage, but the airport part is what had me worried.. We have a connecting flight (one stop) instead of a nonstop.

I used to worry about changing planes but now, both American and Delta have bag tracking on their app. I think in general, they have upped the game on baggage handling and misplaced bags are less common than they once were. Our bags have followed us on our flights without issue, both coming and going, on our 6 trips this year. (knock on wood it stays that way)

You might want to ask this over on the Transportation board! They're all very experienced DME people.
In short, I have used DME more times than I have fingers and toes. Using it again in 3 weeks...like you, flying SW with 6 checked bags!! I'll be tagging those bags and saying goodby to them at my home airport.
Could your bags be misdirected by SW? Sure. But probably not. Are you flying direct...no changing planes? If so, I really wouldn't worry about it!
But...if you're going to stress, it might be better to get your bags yourself. Believe me...plenty of people bring huge amounts of checked luggage to the bus with them! Of course, I've also watched some of those people attaching the yellow luggage tags to their bags, as they are in the bus line.

Yup, just call and ask for more.

Yep, you can get more.
If you don't get them or forget to call, you can give CM at DME station the claim checks and they'll get the bags without yellow tags for you and deliver them to the room.
Key to that method, keep the claim numbers for the bags without yellow tags separate from the ones with, so they know which to look for. (I've made that mistake before)
Or don't use the tags at all and give the CM all your claim checks

YES, I got our travel documents yesterday, and needed another set of yellow tags. I called the number in the booklet that they come with and they said I should receive them in 7-10 business days!

No issues on last trip (arrived home this morning). Arrived at OKW at 5:30 pm last Sunday; bags were delivered around 7:00 pm.
