Well- Here goes. My husband just "sprung" a trip to the world on me for our one-year anniversary :earseek: We leave in 4 days! Here's the thing- we just booked our flights, and are booking Disney's Magical Express along with our resort room (which I'm unsure of at this point!!!!). How do we go about using this if we don't have time to have the DME tags sent to us? Are we *hypothetically* allowed to go to baggage claim, get our bags on our own, stowe the bags under the bus and just take the free ride??? I'm SOOOOOO excited!

Yes you may do that. That is what my family did in June.

Yes, you are allowed to go to baggage claim, retrieve you own bags, take them to the DME coach, and have the driver load them in the baggage bay of the coach. When you get to your resort, your driver will unload your bags (at which point a tip to the driver would be customary).

But you have another choice if you didn't get yellow tags. You can bypass baggage claim, even if you didn't get the yellow tags. Give your airline's checked baggage receipt and descriptions of your bags to the DME agent at the DME Welcome Center at the airport. Disney will retrieve your bags and transport them to your resort, where they will "magically appear" in your room a few hours later.

We are in the same boat. We just booked everything yesterday for next Sat. I was wondering the same thing esp. since we will not have rec'd the resort confirmation either to prove where we are staying. But I guess not too many people would hop on a bus to somewhere they don't have a reservation to stay at. If I see you are still at the airport come Saturday I'll know I'm in trouble. :rotfl: Good luck. :wave2:

This is what we did on 11/4. Our tags didn't arrive in time, so we gave a description and they noted our baggage claim numbers. We checked in at Pop at 3pm and our bags were in our room when we returned at 7pm.
