DLX Dining Plan-Not finding this info anywhere

Since he is 2 at the start of the trip you do not need a ticket for his entry and he eats for free at those AYCE and buffet places. It would be cheaper not to put him on the DP and pay for any extras you need for him. I can't imagine you'd need $19 a day to feed a 3yo a kids CS meal is $4 and TS dinner entree is $8.

Well, most days we will be eating two TS meals ($16) and a CS ($4). You also have to include the price of drinks (which on the plan he gets the mug for the resort), snacks throughout the day (he'll never finish it all but that doesn't mean he won't want them :rotfl: ). I called and spoke with a few CM's and was told that there would be difficulty with him turning three down there. I am also ordering a cake for his birthday so that kinda lets the cat outta the bag. DH and I decided that we'd spend a little extra money to avoid the hassle and this way we don't have to carry the extra cash or eat only three year old type foods. Plus we have a couple two dining credit meals so that gives us some breathing room.

I think what she meant was that she thinks you would have to buy a park ticket along with the dining plan. As in if he is old enough for the dp, then he would be old enough for paying for the park pass. I have no idea how that would work.
I was told however, not to worry about the birth date, as they only look at the age from the day he arrives.
But I do agree, the extra credits would be nice. With us, on the DX DP with aps, entrees and desserts, plus ds will have his kids meal, I think that will be tons of food. DD will have a large variety to chose from. lol DH and I already discussed using my dessert to order her her own, and us sharing a dessert. We know we will be very full by the end anyway.

If the child is 2yo at the start of the trip he is 2yo for the entire trip so no park ticket needed. If one of the TS meals is a buffet or AYCE there is no charge for a 2yo. The fact that he turns 3 is irrelevant for the purpose of pricing. There is no cat out of the bag; you are not cheating because he turns three; just as you won't be cheating when he starts at 9yo and turns 10yo on the trip.

I have no idea what the CM meant, but you are following the Disney rules exactly. I don't think Disney CM's usually push to sell, but by getting you to buy the plan and park ticket Disney is selling you more. Again I have never really felt this kind of pitch from Disney, so I tend to think the CM was answering or understanding things differently or simply got it wrong.

Paying for a ticket and or the Deluxe plan is your choice. You will spend more $ doing it that way. This one of the few freebies WDW gives families and I'd take it as you'll only get it once.

You will have 2 snack credits per person on the plan; that is likely to be plenty, even with the 2-3yo using some. As for the 2TS meals we actually paid OOP for our 5yo to eat at Narcoosse's: $6, much cheaper thatn usind 2TS credits. Keep reading on the Deluxe plan experiences. I think many have credits left, especially snack credits.

Never thought of the price of the park ticket, just the dining plan cost, crunching some numbers now :confused3
