My DH and I are AP and make 5-6 trips to DLR each year, but next weekend it will be like visiting a whole new park for us,:wizard: :wizard: as it will be our DS's first trip to meet the Mouse!

While we are mostly going to take in the Halloween holiday sights and treats and to take lots of pictures (DS is planning to wear his Tigger costume), I am wondering which rides we can take him on. In particular I am curious about Nemo Subs (we haven't gotten to ride yet due to the long lines and the fact that I was pregnant all summer) and Haunted Holiday Mansion (DH and my favorite ride)!

Thanks for your advice!

We took my daughter when she was 3 months old. I was surprised at the number of rides she could go on with us! We made much use of the baby care centers in both DCA and DL.

I know we took her on Haunted Mansion at that age, I'm not sure about Nemo Subs.

I hope you have a wonderful trip!!

You can basically take him on any ride that doesn't have a height restriction.

You may want to think about Pirates of the Caribbean though because of the drops. We took our youngest son on it when he was 6 months old, and he didn't have any problems with the drops or the ride at all, but I think the drops could provoke the startle reflex in some babies.

Also on many of the dark rides the audio is SO LOUD, and you really notice just how loud when you have a small baby. I would just cover our babe's ears with his blanket or my hands to muffle the sound for him.

Other than that all I can say is have a great time.:thumbsup2

Anything without a height limit, and within your comfort levels for DS (for instance, I personally wouldn't take a little one on the teacups, heck, I didn't even let DS go on them until this year and he's 3 YEARS old).

Subs should be fine...may I suggest you wait until he's solidly asleep and content AND has already had a recent #2 and been changed? Small, enclosed subs, perfect for sound and smell to be shared with everyone...

Assuming you're nursing, POTC is great to do that on...my guy slept through it all when he was one, after nursing a moment. :)

I think at 2 months you can go on much more than at 1 year, b/c he just won't really notice things, or know that it might be 'scary'...like HM or Snow White's Scary Adventures, etc.

You might think about double checking with you pediatrician - if there's any particular motion type that he/she doesn't want the baby on - but most of the rides are TAME and a baby can go on so much! Tea Cups may not be good for a few more months (just my mommy gut with what I would do, you decide though!), Pirates I'd be okay with, Pooh is LOUD but cover ears, Dumbo spins but is only one direction.

Have fun!!!

Thanks so much for your thoughts and advice!

DH and I are really looking forward to sharing the Disney Magic with DS on the first of what will likely be countless trips to DLR and WDW throughout his life!

As for me, I am looking forward to leaving DS with DH long enough to ride ToT and the coasters after a 9 month hiatus, including our honeymoon trip to WDW back in April where I had to sit out most every fun ride!

Rider Switch (baby swap) will be your friend. :)
