Besides rides (which we will try all of them), what are your top three favorite things to do around DLR?

*These can be shows, dining, treats, events or anything else that you look forward to on your trips.
**First time to DLR and looking for those non-ride experiences that often get over looked.

We really enjoy the Carsland nighttime lighting and try not to miss it on our trips.

On Main Street check out the Enchanted Windows at the Emporium Gift Shop. The scenes change to tell the stories.

At the Penny Arcade you can pay a quarter to make Pinocchio dance.

Also at the Penny Arcade every 7 minutes the Welte Orchestrion plays. Walt Disney bought it in 1953 and it opened with the park in 1955.

With the Disney Play App you can get a free fortune from Esmerelda at the Penny Arcade and Fortune Red at New Orleans Square. It is a fun interactive experience.

You can watch free classic animation at the Main Street Cinema.

Check out all of the displays at the Opera House by Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln including the bench Walt Disney was sitting on when he came up with the idea for Disneyland.

Do the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough which is actually very impressive.

Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island has cool caves with different interactive experiences. For example, try to touch the treasure in the cave.

At California Adventure at the bottom of Grizzly Creek Challenge Trail there is a cave where you can discover your spirit animal.

At Animation Academy you can draw a character and keep the drawing for free.

Fantasmic and World of Color are the two obvious choices for "Favorite" things. Unsure of your group makeup, but perhaps these work for you:
- We think Pixie Hollow is one of the coolest character greets in all of the parks. When we took our 4 yr old granddaughter there, Tinkerbell was showing off all the stuff on her tinker's table. Loved it.
- Pin Trading, especially IF Cast Member interaction is back > if they're allowed to trade off their own lanyards. It's an opportunity for great interactions.
- Downtown Disney if you have spare time. We usually visit it on our arrival day if we're not going to the parks, or on our departure day if we have a later flight.
- A visit to the Grand Californian - we usually arrange at least one meal there to create the excuse to visit it, and fantasize about a future stay there.
- Grab beignets from the Mint Julep bar, and take a round trip on the train from New Orleans station.

Oh.
Sorry.
You said 3.
:mic:

First and foremost is the cheddar bagel twist from Maurice's. Add in a Boysen apple freeze if you wanna but that doughy cheesy goodness is the first thing I go towards when we walk in.

Next a train ride or 2... or 3. Honestly I love the train, its a great way to people watch while getting a break from walking around.

Disney pickles are waaaay better than at home pickles.

Total gonna cheat here. Here are my top 3….

Experiences….
- Emporium Enchanted Windows
- Sha-boom (dusk) in carsland
- World of Color (fave nighttime exp in N. America parks)

food…
- Churro Toffee
- a Dole Whip From where it all began
- Mint Julep (non alch)

Non Ride Awesomeness…
- get pixie dusted
- roaming characters (now back!)
- and not something I have done yet, but wish I had pre-closure and its on the bucket list: the walk in Walt’s Footsteps Tour

I second the cheddar bagel twist. I stumbled on this one night when I wanted a hot chocolate. They were sold out, so I got the cheddar bagel twist instead. I was not expecting how good it was.

I’m old school Disneyland, as I worked there in the 80’-90’s. So my top 3 are always going to be classics.

1. Grab a fountain Coke and hot dog/chili dog at Coke Corner and sit down and listen to the ragtime piano player. Talk about hidden treasure!

2. Someone already mentioned the flag retreat ceremony. Thank you! If you or anyone you’re traveling with are Veterans… it’s especially touching. I’ve attended several with my family and we always end up meeting other Vets. We take a moment to say a kind word to each other in the Happiest Place on Earth!

3. Take a spin around the Rivers of America on the Mark Twain or the Columbia. Both are absolute park treasures and the Columbia has been running at night. Very piratey!

I know some of these have already been mentioned, but...

Cars Land neon lighting at sunset.

My husband and son loved using the Datapad on the Play Disney Parks app to hack doors/droids/ships and scan crates to interact with Galaxy's Edge -- they had a lot of fun making droids talk, venting the Millennium Falcon, and earning badges (really burns through phone battery though).

Monorail (we took it to DTD station to head to Tangaroa Terrace to get a Dole Whip float with rum and drink it at the outdoor bar).

Bonus: mobile ordering a Dole Whip at the Tiki Juice Bar on the way to Jungle Cruise to eat it in line and/or on the boat!
Bonus: cheddar garlic bagel twist at Maurice's Treats -- it's so good and right next to Fantasy Faire so you can see/meet characters as well!

The churro toffee is so good and it is not something I ever would have gotten if not for this board. It is really not something that draws your attention.

Tigger Tails at Pooh Corner.

Frozen Coke in California Adventure.

Grab a few packs of Goofy Gummies to take home with you and help the magic last even longer.
