I would like to put together a scavenger hunt for my DDs (7 and 4) for our trip in September. My goal is to experience all we can, and with 6 days that should not be a problem. I'd like to get ideas for fun things to look for while in the parks. For example, find the headstone that says "Here lies....." in the Haunted Mansion graveyard. I'd like to find at least one thing per ride, plus fun things throughout the parks, DTD, hotels and/or while people-watching (find someone with BDay MM ears). I will be including Hidden Mickey clues. I figure it'll keep them occupied while waiting in lines. If anyone has any good ideas, or sees something fun while waiting in the lines, please add. TIA!!

How about have them find the golden nail in fantasyland? It marks the old "center" of the park [no longer accurate since park has grown] It's been int he ground since 1955 when Walt put it there:thumbsup2

I have a book my whole family loves called Disneyland Detective by Kendra Trahan. It tells the history of each ride, interesting things to look for, (and to listen for!) and even has tips on hidden mickeys. It might give you some good ideas.

What building has a ship weather vane? I stumped my sister on that one. :)

Several good books are the Hidden Mickey book and Disneyland Encylopedia. The first is good to bring with you to the park and has a scavenger hunt for hidden mickeys in it. The second one is an excellent book and would give you ideas for making up questions and clues.

There is another thread on here about all the elephants in the park. You could make finding elephants a game too. :)

I am planning on using the Hidden Mickeys. I was hoping the new book would be out before our trip but its release was pushed back from Aug. 25 to Sept 16 (our last day in DLR), so I will settle with the old book. I will check out those other books too, thanks!
