We're considering extending our upcoming Paris trip to include DLR Paris. We're considering staying 2 nights at either one of the DLR Paris hotels or booking through Marriott at their timeshare, the Marriott Village d'Ile-de-France.

Any thoughts? Any experiences w/the Marriott? Reviews on Tripadvisor are mixed....but how does it compare to say, DVC/Disney resorts in terms of quality/cleanliness?

Or am I better off staying 2 nights at the DLR Paris hotels?

Thanks!

I've stayed at the Marriott twice, most recently last October. I've not stayed on site at DLP for about 10 years as the price seemed prohibitively expensive. Marriott was lovely, very comparable to DVC. For me, it was travelling with my mum and dad, having the space, somewhere to leave dad while mum and I hit the shops at Val de Europe etc. beds very very comfy, I'd recommend it. The obvious downside is you're not walking distance to the parks. From what I've read many of the Disney hotel rooms are a bit irked now, but the Sequoia Lodge is all recently refurbed so may be a good choice?

This is helpful, thanks. I also had no idea that the Sequoia Lodge was recently refurbed. That may help in the decision. I was surprised to see the tripadvisor ratings were so low for the Disney properties (mostly 3.5 stars) The Marriott's kitchen will come in handy for our kids.

How far is Val de Europe for shopping? Are there shuttles from the Marriott that go there? Thanks!

I've stayed at a few of the Marriott Vacation Club properties (although not a member) and that one is the poorest in terms of maintenance, but it is still a very nice resort and we would probably stay there again and hope for better luck with our unit.

We had problems with the a/c. It was hot, and the problems went on ... and on ... and on! Never did get resolved despite many trips to the front desk and visits from maintenance. Other things were sloppy to say the least. The accommodation is great though; roomy, good kitchen as you said and great Marriott beds.

We stayed there without actually going into the parks (long story). I think if I were going mainly for the parks, the pull of being onsite would be great. I stayed at Santa Fe when I took a school party years ago and it was ok, although the rooms were on the small size.

We have stayed several times at the Marriott. In terms of quality and value for money it is MUCH better then dlp Hotels. Only a 5 minute drive to the parks and there is also a public bus right at the gates which takes you to DLP. We loved it there, however..................we did miss the total immersion of staying in Disney and it gave a totally different feel to our holiday.
Whenever we go with more of us then can be accomodated in one room in DLP we will always stay at the Marriott, but when we are with the 3 of us DL hotels win hands down every time (even if they are generally much more expensive)

We stayed at SL for the first time in October and had a fantastic stay. We were upgraded (or just got lucky) and were given a top floor room with lake view which looked as if it had been refurbished the day we moved in! Every one we dealt with was super friendly and helpful and we have nothing but good things to say about this hotel :)
Whatever you decide - have a fab trip!
