Thanks to everyone for the advice in a previous post about when to visit DL. Now there is a new wrinkle.

I only have a few days (wed to sun) and I am geting some pressure to skip DLR and go to WDW.

The airfare is about the same to WDW or DLR (+ or - $20) from NYC of course travel time to DLR is longer.

We have done WDW 3-4 times and have not done DLR in at least 5 years.

Personally I would love to see EO and WOC but beyond that I am not sure what else i get for the long flight on a short trip. (oh yeah nemo subs and Indy)

What do you think - make the long trip to DLR or do teh short hop to WDW and save DLR for another day?

Have you been to either before? If not, the closer trip would be fine. If you've done WDW, I'd definitely give DLR a whirl. Take a look at the travel times - DLR will take a lot longer - partly because of the time zone shift - which you won't have a lot of time to adjust to. You'll see more of DL/DCA in the few days even with the travel, since it's so much more compact. Assuming you have 4 days at WDW, you'll get a taste of each park (maybe a bit more - Hollywood Studios can be 1/2 day really ).

Everything being equal, DL is imho much lovelier than the Magic Kingdom. But the travel may wear you down, and WDW does have more to do.

Oh dear....I think I would go to WDW...however, saying that I went to WDW for less time then that..so go to DLR! Plenty of time!

I am shocked that the flights are about the same! So would you go to the parks Thur-Sun? Or would you get Wed too?

One plus to going from NY to DLR is that it'll be easier to wake up early because of the time zone change. This will help a ton in beating those crowds.

Other things that DLR has that are different/better than WDW:
-Space, Buzz, PotC and Fantasmic! (much better at DLR)
-Pinocchio, Mr. Toad, Alice in Wonderland, Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin, Monster's Inc (if you are into dark rides)
-Matterhorn
-Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough
-Storybookland Canal Boats and Casey Jr. Circus Train

Along with the stuff you mentioned (EO, WoC, Nemo, Indy)

DLR!! With fewer days, you can do more at DL and CA and not feel like you missed a lot. WDW is good if you have lots of days.

I chose to go to DLR from NC this year, our airfare was a little cheaper to fly to LAX than MCO!!:scared1: How is that possible? The long flight didn't phase me, you're tired on the plane but as soon as you get there the excitement will keep you going.

Have fun whatever you choose.

I personally would go to DL. I think you need way more time at WDW than just 3 or 4 days. But since everything at DL is so much closer together, you can do more in less time. We went to WDW for 10 days last Sept and there was still a lot that we didn't get a chance to do. Plus, while the actual flight to LA will technically be longer, with the time change you would land in LA only about an hour later than if you had flown to MCO.

Lots of good points. I still have not decided.

One + to WDW is that they put out the schedules so far in advance. I would hate to get there and not see EO or WOC
