DLR on Vets Weekend

Parents booked a trip for the whole family Nov 11th - 15th. The plan was DL 11, 12, and 13th and USH on the 14th. Now I just realized that that weekend is veterans day weekend (Saturday). I assume all the kids will be out of school on Monday the 13th? If so, should we move USH to the 13th and then go back to DL on the 14th? Was really looking forward to a day with "light" crowds. Thoughts?

Its also possible that kids will instead be off the 10th (friday before). Anybody know school schedule especially around there? Thanks!!

Tuesday -- Thursday are considered the fewest ppl.

BUT No fireworks and NO fantasmic. and i dont think there is a holiday in Nov except thanksgiving.

We will definately be there on Sat and Sun so I'm sure we'll be catching the fireworks, parades, etc those days. Was hoping tho that our last day there might be fewer people, just to slam rides all day. Maybe kids dont have day off for Vets day anymore, but I swear as a kid we used to. I sure hope I'm wrong. But I keep telling myself the worst day at DL is still a million times better than my best day at work

Friday is actually the observed Vet's Day holiday, so most schools will be out then.

We live in Northern CA and my kids have that Friday off. We are coming down Thurs night and will be at the parks Fri, Sat and Sun and drive home Monday. We are going to DL on Fri, CA on Sat as that is usually the WORST day and esp being the 3 day weekend and then back to DL on Sunday although compared to week days I would say all 3 days will be packed.

I have gone the entire week BEFORE vets day in 05 and it was WAY crowded so I think a lot of people have the same idea.

If I were you I would get there EARLY and do as much as you can, take a mid day break, then come back in the evening. Park will be open late!

Thx for all the info guys...makes me feel a little better that Friday is the holiday (wont be there that day) and not Monday. When we went to DL last year the weekend was packed as I expected, but Monday was awesome. No crowds, no lines. We did more in 3/4 of a day than we had the previous 2 combined.


Cant wait...little over a month to go!!

Most schools if they have it off will have Fri off. Get there VERY EARLY! DL closed due to capacity last year on Fri the 11th by 11am. Saturday was NOT as bad as Fri was last year!
