I'm getting excited about my upcoming trip. I do have a few questions however. (They should be pretty easy ones)

We are booked at the Hotel Menage. Does anyone have direct experiance with this hotel? I feel like I messed up a little bit, in that the hotel is farther away from the enterance than I thought. Is it too far to walk? (Just me and my girlfriend, no kids)

I've been to DLR before but was in 1991 before DCA opened. I'm looking forward to DCA and especially WoC.

Enchanted Tiki Room. Does it still have that annoying Gilbert Godfrey character? My god, that voice could crack brass. Do they still shoot the hippo's on the Jungle Cruise?

My interary is
Arrival on 3/14 at 4pm. Nothing Planed.
3/15- Disneyland
3/16- DCA
3/17- Rent Car for SD Zoo
3/18- DL/DCA
3/19 Return home.

i think I've got a pretty good idea on how FP works and I plan to buy a picnic lunch (I'm think'n on Fri) to guarentee a spot for WoC.

I've already paid for air and hotel. I'll be buying DLR tickets, ART tickets and airport transfers on my next payday. I've budgeted $500 for food/drinks/soveniers.

I wouldn't say it's too far to walk, but it depends on how comfortable you are with walking. It's not close per se

Enchanted Tiki Room at DLR is the original. It is not under new management like the WDW one.

They still have the guns on jungle cruise, but they don't "shoot" the hippos but rather scare them off.

re: Tiki room...that annoying character is not at DLR - I think just WDW from what I understand.

Hotel would be too far for me to walk in addition to all the walking in the parks, but that's me.

Have fun!

My boyfriend and I stayed there on our last visit and it was not a far walk at all, maybe ten minutes.

The hotel was nice enough, we liked the heated pool in the cool afternoon! =)

Have fun!

I've heard that the Menage is borderline too far to walk. Re your itinerary:

- Start each day (or at least 2 of the 3 days) at DL.

- Park Hop each day.

- Use your MM.

- Know how to use FP.

- It'll be Spring Break for many.....get there early each day. :)

Any kids? Are you a WDW vet? & what time zone are you coming from?

Have a great time at Walt's Park & at the Zoo. :thumbsup2

:)

I've been to WDW and DLR but not that recently. A one day WDW back in Oct 2010 and a family trip Dec of 2001. DLR most recently in 1991 (HS grad trip), and before in the mid 80s as a kid. (it was before America Sings closed cuz I remember driving my dad nuts singing the songs.)

Kid-less from Seattle.
I know more than the average bear because I'm a travel agent and have done the online disney training but as with most things there's a differance between training and reality.
So I'm not a vet but not really a rookie either/.

That post on FP was incredible. I learned a ton.

The dates are the first week I could get vacation approval. I'll have to take mah chances on spring break.
