Hi,

Is there a fridge in the room? Or mini-bar? Somewhere I can keep a small carton of milk? I have booked a standard room.

Thanks!

Yes, all the rooms have small refrigerators. I haven't stayed there yet, but when I booked my room I called the hotel directly to ask, and the CM assured me that every room has them. I told them they need to have that info in their website!

Very good point that this info is not on the website. Clicking "Amenities" on the Rooms page of each Disney hotel opens a drop-down list where it should be listed. (Granted, not the most obvious place to look in the first place.) Here is that list for DLH and it erroneously doesn't list the fridges. My guess is that they removed them from this list when they replaced them resort-wide after the fridge fire at GCH (last year was it?), and forgot to put them back in the list:

  • Desk
  • High-Speed Internet - Free Wired & WiFi Service
  • Hair Dryer
  • Satellite TV including Disney Channel & ESPN
  • Ice Bucket
  • Newspaper - USA Today Delivery (Weekday)
  • Alarm Clock
  • Dual Line Phone with Voice Mail
  • Vanity Area
  • Interior Corridor Access
  • Iron & Board
  • Air Conditioning / Heat
  • Coffee Maker
  • Shower & Bathtub Combo
  • Triple Sheets
  • Hand & Body Lotion
  • Safe - In Room
  • Crib Pack 'n Play

I stayed at the DLH a couple of times during the renovations (over the last three years) and the mini-fridges were added to all the rooms as part of the renovation (along with the totally awesome headboards).:thumbsup2

Now that all the rooms have been upgraded, the mini-fridge is part of all the standard rooms.

If you are getting juice or milk containers, stick with the quart size!;)

We are staying in a 2-BR suite at DLH next week...with 8 people, 2 of whom are kids. How "mini" are the mini-fridges? Will they hold several bottles of water, maybe some fruit and milk? Any room for left-over meals, etc?

I would imagine they would have larger fridges in the suites, but you should call the hotel to ask. The number to reach the hotel directly is (714) 778-6600.

We stayed in a premium room in Frontier last summer during the fridge recall and didn't have a fridge. DD has food allergies so they put in a brand new one for us (right out of the box!) This year we were in a deluxe room in Adventure and the fridge was much smaller.

The mini-fridges in the standard rooms (i.e., not the suites) all looked to be the same size and we were able to keep a box of leftovers, a couple pieces of fruit and a bottle of juice (quart size) with a little room left.

It looked to me (when I wandered into a 1 BR suite in the Frontier Tower that was being cleaned for new occupants:rolleyes1) that the fridge in there was about double this size.

We've stayed in the 1 bd suite - not 2 bedroom, but I imagine it's the same. the mini-fridge is the standard mini fridge. You can have leftovers and fruit, the door has the weird "egg holder" and you can fit a quart carton of milk.

Be aware the "freezer" is imaginary and just to keep the fridge cold - you won't be able to keep anything frozen in it. Guess you can't get FROZEN easy anywhere in DL :rotfl:

We brought food back from Catal at Downtown Disney and brought 3 boxes and they fit fine with a quart of milk and a carton of blueberries.

We once had a bunch of water bottles - I think 6 and the carton of blueberries on top.
Hope that helps

As for the suites, I think it depends on the layout. We had a 3 bedroom that had an oversized dorm fridge in the family room and regular sized dorm fridges in each of the bedroom. When stayed in a 2 bedroom last Nov, there were 2 regular sized dorm fridges - one in the family room and one in one of the bedrooms.
