My BF and I are WDW vets and have mastered everything about planning a WDW vacation, but this December, we are going to SoCal to visit family and are taking a few days to visit DLR for the first time.

We have never been to WDW during the holidays so we are specifically planning this trip for December so we can see some of the Disney holiday magic. Can anyone tell me when we can expect to see the dates released for the candy cane making? We have a hotel booked (BW Plus Park Place) for Dec 3-6 but can change our dates if we need.

Also, can someone tell me if "regular people" can attend the candlelight processional? From what I've ready online it looks like maybe only special guests and annual passholders can attend?

I'm sure I'll think of a ton more questions as we get into planning but appreciate any information, suggestions, ideas from all the DLR vets out there!!

I'm sorry I can't help you as my wife and I are going for our first official trip to DLR (we technically did both parks in one day about 8 years ago).

We also are avid WDW people and go about once a year. I just want to say, you have to go in December. Candlelight Processional - Osborne Family Lights - All of the decorations - The Grand Floridian Gingerbread house, etc.

It's my favorite time to go!

1) Last year the candy cane making started in November

2) Last year I think only AP holders could register for Candlelight

What may transpire this year may vary. It appear, though, that you've chosen some good dates where both events will be happening but without the truly gigantic crowds you get later in the month.

For the CLP, seats were only available to AP's and special guests last year but there are standing areas available for anyone, just be prepared to arrive to these areas early for a good spot.

For CP, tickets were only available for AP holders, but those without could wait to stand in the standing area. Then, right when the show started, they pulled people from the standing to fill seats that were still empty.

Thanks so much everyone for the info! We are really excited for our first trip to DLR and our first look at a Disney Christmas...I hear no one does it better!

If you are looking for info on Christmas time in DL check out the Christmas time superthread. It's got tons of great info regarding Christmas time at the parks. It's not that active right now, but will become more so in the next 2 to 3 months as Christmas news gets released by TDA. I am going in late Nov to experience it and can't wait!!:santa::santa:
