DLR Deals to Watch For?

Hi all,

I am far from a Disney veteran, but I took my DD (13) to WDW in 2019, and am starting to look into a trip to DLR for summer 2022. As a single mom, cost is a HUGE consideration.

I know there are regular deals for WDW (at least in the Before Times - and covid still remains a wildcard) such as free dining, and I am wondering if there are any common deals or discounts that I should watch for before I book our trip.

I know free dining isn't a DLR thing, and it doesn't work for how we eat anyway. I am just using that as an example.

For our WDW trip I was able to book discounted tickets for Canadian residents, as well as a hotel room discount.

There is zero chance I will be able to afford to stay on site and will be looking at nearby hotels. Many seem to offer 3rd or 4th night free. Is this about the best it gets?

Thanks!!

Hi, I'm from Ireland, and I have been going to Disneyland California every year since 2010. I am very budget conscious so I totally understand looking for deals. Honestly Disneyland is totally different to Walt Disney World. Most people stay offsite, the cheapest hotels /motels which are within 15 minutes walking distance of the security bag check are located on Harbour Boulevard. I have booked Tropicana Motel for my January trip , which is approx $200 per night. The cheapest rate for the Disneyland area would be the motels about 20 minutes walk which are around $120 per night.

The best thing to do is go to Google maps, search Disneyland and zoom in to the Harbour Boulevard side of the park. You will see about 10 motels / hotels along this street which are the closest to the pedestrian entrance and security bag check. You can then check out the website of each of the hotels / motels and find one which suits you.

You should check out my pre planning thread for my January trip. I am posting updates the updates for international tourists to USA as well as Disneyland specific planning information.

One thing I have found is to book a room early. When booked early the rates are the lowest.
I booked a room at the Desert Inn & Suites back in June for $89/night for my solo stay Feb 2022.

For off-site locations I prefer the Desert Inn & Suites (DI&S) or the Tropicana. The Tropicana rate is usually more and I only book there if I plan to use the pool. I really do not like the in-door pool at DI&S.

Check now for your summer dates and see what is available. I like that there is no cancellation penalty.
