DLR after broken ankle

I also rent from Deckerts and they give AAA discounts if you mention it. You can't just park the scooter and leave it because if someone takes off with it you won't know where it is and you still need to return it. Once I had someone take mine &, leave theirs by accident. I had to call their scooter company to pick it up and Deckerts had to bring me a new one. The keys to these scooters are Universal so anyone can drive off with yours so do be aware of this.

The key to avoiding someone taking your scooter by accident is to tie something colorful around the handle, such as a ribbon, cord, or hair scrunchie. Or put a cheap beach towel on the seat (this is a good idea on a sunny day anyway). Just anything to make someone realize it's not theirs.

We always did this with our stroller too. It would have to be on purpose to take out stuff. We make it very personalized.

I learned after the 1st time. I just wasn't aware initially that the keys were Universal keys. I use the holiday lights etc to distinguish my scooter from others now that I know better.

I would suggest renting a scooter, if he wants to walk for bit, trade off with someone else in your party, but keep the scooter with you, don't just park it. That way if he needs it, no one has to try to go get it and bring it to him.

As far as the best place to rent from, I suggest Select Mobility. They have great customer service and are located just across the street from Disneyland at the Best Western. They also deliver to all of the local hotels.

Just a caution, all of the local rental companies have been having demand issues, so best to call earlier than later just to be safe.

Mine is usually pretty distinct (basket full!). In 15 years, never had a scooter go missing (yet).
