Has anyone got any experience of DLP with anaphylaxis?

I have read that they provide 'special allergen friendly meals' by Natama.
Though appear to look like microwave meals that taste worse than airoplane food.

Are they as bad as they look?

Is peanut oil used a lot in France for frying food?

I also had a look at breakfast options...staying on site.

Is the soya milk sweetened or unsweetened does anyone know?

The 'allergy bread' only states free from gluten and milk, so I am unsure if it will contain traces of nuts/peanuts, egg, etc Though not listed in the ingredients list.

However one item does state free from gluten, milk, peanut, soy, egg.
CRAC'FORM ? will we b stuck with these things for breakfast?

Is there anywhere in the Disney Village that could cater for allergies?

Sorry for the long post, hopefully someone can advise.

I have e-mailed Disney who responded with a copy of their allergy guide with Natama meals.

Thanks

Bumping this up so daytime readers/posters with experience might see it :)

thanks Lisa

I guess I will just have to keep trying Disney.

Hope we manage to find some things we can eat. Or shall b rather skinny on our return!

I managed to find this thread via search and also this one that contains an email address.

Hoping you get some help, it must be difficult enough when there isn't a language barrier.

thanks Ware Bears

I will have a look

and yes its super difficult

as soo many things contain traces of things like egg/nuts/milk

I take allergy translation cards on holiday stating allergies and that no food can contain or have traces/may contain allergens.

So hard, easier to stay at home and make all ur own meals then u know they are safe, usually on holiday we go self catering so that we can do this. But unable to do that on this trip and really wanted to stay onsite. the davy crockett ranch is no good as no transport :(

hmm doesn't look too hopeful :(

box of dry cereal brought from the UK for us! breakfast, lunch and dinner!

perhaps if we are lucky the fries wont b made in peanut oil.

burgers etc seem to contain egg.

I've never even heard of peanut oil?

isn't it standard vegetable oil?

I would try and e-mailing Disney (not sure what adress though) and ask if they can give you the info.

I don't think peanut oil is commonly used in Europe with the exception probably of Chinese cooking. So I think you will be ok with fries

Hope you find something you can eat

My DH has a nut allergy and has always been fine with the fries at DLP and in France as a whole.

I'm gluten and dairy free and suffer from Idiopathic anaphylaxis.

Breakfast in the hotel, I take a box of cereal with me and use their soya milk but I can't remember if it was unsweetened or not - sorry. I also get loads of crackers, bread, biscuits and cakes and from memory they seem to be free from all allergies! I've stayed in the Hotel New York and they have a fruit bowl for breakfast so I help myself to that!

I've only ever once had the allergy meal and as it looked and tasted like baby food I sent it back!

I've found it is better to eat in the table service restaurants and to show them the allergy translation card, they've then been able to come up with something suitable that I can eat.

I do take crackers, crisps, biscuits, chocolate etc with me as I figure I am away for a few days so it won't matter if I eat a little unhealthily!

On a totally different note but for reasurrance purposes, the first aid facilities in Disney Park and the studios are brilliant. I was unfortunate to suffer the beginings of an allergic reaction whilst in the park but the first aid centre were awesome, they have a room off the main entrance of the first aid centre that is similar to an a&e rescus room and within seconds of walking in, I was surrounded by two english speaking doctors and nurses and my crisis was very quickly averted and after a stay in their little recovery area I was on my merry way and having fun screaming on thunder mountain before it closed for the night!

Hope this helps you.:wizard:
