One of the days of our trip is an AP black out day. DD was young when we last did the Paris sites and she doesn't remember them well so I thought it would be an ideal day to go into Paris. However, as DH isn't coming with us I'm a little worried about just the two of us going on the RER/Metro. I'm sure we'll be fine but I'd like to know exactly where I'm going beforehand so we don't get lost and venture into a bad area.

I'm sure DD would love the open top busses they have (like the London ones). The companies have stops at all the major sites and you can hop on and off at any of them.

My question is the easiest way to get to a bus stop coming in on the RER line from DLP? I was thinking of possibly the Arc de Triomphe as we could stay on the RER line and get off at CDG Etoile. Hopefully that's right but is it far from that station to the Arc?

Is there a better stop to get off at or should we change to the metro? Any help would be very gratefully welcome.

Charles de Gaulle Etoile RER/metro station is right by the Arc de Triomphe. As you exit the station you are right there.
However if you want to do an open top bus tour the best station to get off at is Auber. This is still on the same line (RER A) but before you get to CDG Etoile. As you exit this station the offices for the open top bus are right there.

Many thanks. Can you remember whether it's the offices for the green l'open tour bus or the red bus as it seems to be cheaper to book online before leaving?
