DLP Restaurant Menus and Sharing Question

I clicked the link to the DLP restaurant menus on the DLP Magic site, but I am only seeing one menu for each restaurant. There are not different ones for lunch and dinner- does this mean the restaurants serve the same food and same prices for lunch and dinner? Or are there smaller portions/cheaper prices for lunch? I am trying to figure out how I am going to justify getting a $30 cheeseburger at some of these places.

Also, is sharing allowed? Some of these pricey cheeseburgers sound enormous when I'm reading these menus. Topped with other meats, many cheeses, lots of garnishes and then sides of fries and salads? That sounds like a lot and something I could easily split with another person at home. Or do they just "sound big" when reading the menu but the portion is smaller in person? I am trying to figure out what to expect and pick a few affordable yet good table service restaurants for lunch for our first visit to DLP. We do not need a lot of food, just something to hold us over until dinner when we are driving off site to local French restaurants I've researched and Paris the other nights.

Its not really the done thing for adults to share table service meals at DLP to be honest (although you can share pizza at Cafe Mickey). The portions are generous, and they do serve the same menu for lunch and dinner. Nothing wrong in asking your waitier though, you could always have one starter, one main, ask them to be brought out at the same time, and then share those?

DLP is not the epitome of find dining for France, so if its just something to hold you over til dinner, I wouldn't bother with table service at all at DLP, pick up an Earl of Sandwich in the Village or have a counter service meal to share (no problems sharing those at all).

Have you looked at the restaurant review thread with the photos of meals and menus ?

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1181765

In the c/s and t/s restaurants it's the same food/same prices all day long. Most of the buffets are the same also except Inventions which is cheaper and less elaborate at lunch time as there are no characters.

I've never seen anyone adult share a main course, it's not done here in France, but it might be acceptable at Disney :confused3

Normally if you aren't hungry you just eat a main course, some place will let you eat a starter and a dessert but everyone will need to order at least one plate.

Just out of interest where are you seeing $30 cheeseburgers ?

If your after a cheese burger and French fries meal you would be paying would be around 15 Euros (20 USD). Annette's do have some Mega Incredible Burger's on their menu, or they used to for 18 - 23 Euros (24 - 30 USD) but these I seem to remember are well - Mega!

Sharing is not realy done at TS resturants at DLP, and I would also say that the portion size at DLP are about half the size of what you would get in a US resturant.

Thanks everyone for the replies so far. Does anyone know how accurate the menus ane pricing are on the DLRPMagic website? Because that is where I was getting my information and shock at the prices, and just briefly looking at the photo/review thread that Carrie suggested for Walt's American Restaurant, the pictures of the menus there look very different than what is on the DLRP site and the prices are cheaper on the picture/review thread also. Much more reasonable. As an example of the $30 USD burger, on the DLRP site it has "Walt's Gourmet Burger" for 28.99 euros, which would be over $30. Cafe Mickey on DLRP site also said 26.40 euros for "Simbas Burger", also very high but at least that place has characters?

The DLRP Magic menus date from March/April last year

If you look at the Café Mickey menu on here - it's the latest one that came out last November so that's the prices/choices you should be looking at

There's no more Simbas burger for example

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1218268&page=9

As a general rule I wouldn't eat a burger in Disney as they aren't good value and will 9 times out of 10 be served rarer than you would wish for :rotfl:

The Walt's burger costs so much because of the sliver of foie gras. If you want to eat foie gras again I wouldn't eat it at DLP but in a real restaurant outside of the park. The quality and the price will be far better

For Walt's here's the one I took last year so you could check it with DLRPMagic

I do have another one somewhere but only in French, hopefully will get the English one next week as I'll be going on a day when they are open

Thank you again Carrie for this wealth of information. I will stay away from the burgers! What are your favorite things to order from DLP restaurants? We are probably only going to do 2 tables service lunches, 1 counter service lunch, and 1 table service dinner. The other meals we will do in Paris or surrounding DLP towns. Speaking of which- I had previously had another thread where I told you I was going to Auberge de la Brie but still looking for another restaurant outside of the park. I found this one called les trois tilleuls in Bussy Saint Georges. Do you know if this restaurant is good and close enough to drive to or take a bus?

A very wise move, considering today's investiations in France. I like the odd burger myself but I like to know that the animal it came from went 'mooo' and not came last in the Kentucky Derby.

Just a question - I assume its ok to pick up sambos from Eos in the morn & bring with you into the park for lunch?

It's funny how it doesn't bother people in the same way here than in the UK :rotfl:

No I don't like the DLP burgers as they are all cooked from frozen except for the Kobe burger at CG and to make a burger out of Kobe beef is a disgrace.

If you want frozen meat might as well go to McDo to start with ;)

You can do but they would taste so much nicer freshly made and it's less than 10 minutes walk there and back from the park main gate :)

What a Kobe burger :confused3 - Why??? Kobe steak yes! But not in a burger your right what a waste.

I think the problem in the UK and Ireland is that products that were sold as 100% beef now turn out to be 100% horse and thats why people are shocked.

We get our beef from a beef farm run by a friend which is localted 5 mins walk away behind my house so I know where it came from.

From last years CG menu

California burger with Kobe beef, French fries ... €39.60

I agree that it's terrible that people were mislead. I don't know if you can buy horse meat in the UK or if people do/would eat it but you shouldn't be told that you are eating one thing and been sold another. My parents buy all their meat from the village butchers that also have a farm and share an abattoir with other local butchers so they know exactally what they are eating too.I eat less and less meat as time goes on as you really don't know anymore what's in it :confused3

I normally order fish at Walt's which is the only t/s I do at DLP. I also eat at the Agrabah buffet.

I've not heard of that restaurant at Bussy but it seems to get reviews on TA. You could take the RER from DLP to Bussy it's 2 stops so less than 10 minutes or it wouldn't be much longer in the car. All depends if the driver would like to drink more than 2 glasses (25cl) of wine or not as in France more than that would put you over the limit :)

I don't think you can, have never seen it advertised. I think the main shock of this scandal is that even the big companies have been duped. But many have said they have been eating the products for years and have been fine with them until they have found out what it contained so it obviously didn't taste any different.

Another question- do you have to be on one of the half or full board meal plans to order from the "set menus" where you get a choice of starter, main and dessert, or some combination of that? Or can anyone order from one of these? We are looking at California Grill's many tasting/set menu choices and wondering which ones are available to those just paying cash.

No anyone can order them - it's just indicating to those on the meal plans what their choices are - the CG menus changed from those of DLRP as the old chef came back

These were the choices after last June - you have menus and photos of food/setting
