DLP point use

I plan on going to DLP next month. I checked the rates at the Sequioa and it would be 24 points per nite for a room. The cash rate with our Dream AP discount is around $200 USD.

I have the extra points to use and the fee would be $95 for two nights. But is it better to pay the cash and then rent points out to cover the cost or use the points?

I think 24 per nite is more than we have used for a studio in WDW and this would be just for a hotel room.

David's is offering $11/pt not to rent through dvcrequest.com. I'm not sure how many points you have and if it would be enough for them to rent, but I would use that number for the comparison. That would get you $264/night if you were to rent the points. Add the $95 fee, and it seems pretty simple comparing just the money. If you go look at the DLP board, you might be able to find a room at the Sequoia for less than $200/night by going through another country's DLP website, which would give you even more spending money. Just make sure you factor in any credit card fees for foreign transactions.

Thanks, I run my money through the Captial one money market card that allows me to take out currency from any ATM without fees. The Capital one credit card doesn't charge any fees at all on foreign transactions.

I am going to try to find some discounts for our room rather than use points.
