I know that the points include the passes into the parks, but do they also include breakfast? Anyone ever been upgraded staying at DLP on points?
Debsx

When we went, we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and breakfast was included. I don't know about the other resorts. As far as upgrading, our room was an the first floor right by a side enterance gate. Really nice!

We can echo what Snow Shoe reports, as it sounds like we had the same room. I really enjoyed DLP and thought some attractions were better than the US versions.

I was not aware that passes to the parks were included in the cost of the hotel room. Is this a park hopper type ticket, similar to the LOS tickets at WDW?

How does it work?

In fact, it's much more difficult to book a hotel room at DLP without getting the passes included!!

Yes, they work the same way - from day of check-in to end of the check-out day.

Debs - not sure about getting upgrades with DVC points. Like Snow Shoe, several other people, including myself, have mentioned that we did get a better than average view from whichever hotel we stayed at. There was no mention of it at check-in so it may all be pure coincidence. Then again we might just get somekind of unspoken upgrade - that would be nice!

Hope you're lucky too.

wow I din't know that! I was shocked at how many points it is to satyu it makes more sense now. That is pretty cool. HAs anyone figured out if it is better to pay cash or use points?

3DisneyNuts - as the points per night are PER ROOM it becomes better value the more people you squeeze into one room. Be aware that the rooms at the New York and Disneyland Hotels are a slightly better size for this than those at Sequoia Lodge or the Newport Bay.

I do think that the points required for the Disneyland Hotel are particularly steep (but then so are the prices!). But if you really do want to stay there it might work out better trying to rent out points to raise the cash.

Thanks Becky :) Now I have to figure out how I am going to either bank enough points or rent . I have already went to borrow mode for our next trip and that is our first UGH. I need more points already LOL.

So for those of you that have stayed at the Disneyland hotel at DLP, how was it? Was it worth the points? What sort of view did you get? Is it comparable to GF?

Have friend who stayed at Sequoia Lodge and was disappointed by how basic the rooms were, not on a par with WL.

Interested in all your opinions!

We were a bit disappointed with the rooms at the Newport Bay Club as well, but felt that the inclusion of the park tickets (like Park Hoppers, good for the entire length of stay) and breakfast were worth it.

Hotel New York! :teeth:

Underated hotel. Looks funny, but is actually a really nice place to stay. Get the bigger rooms, bigger bathrooms and availability of room service like the Disneyland Hotel, but for quite a bit less. Obviously you pay for the location at the Disneyland, but the New York is the next nearest! :p

Yes, the rooms are basic at Seqoia Lodge and there have been a lot of comments about how shabby they are getting, with which I agree. But the lounge/bar is still a pleasant place to visit.
