Hi all.
So I quit smoking and I'm doing pretty good if I do say so myself! (No cravings, not tempted)
And suddenly I have extra money and maybe it would be rude to not give the A.Ps another outing before they expire in October and January so I'm doing my sums and I love to hear how others do budget trips and where we can cut back.
Our options are 2n/3d midweek either Oct and probably offsite unless the SF is crazy cheap or wait til Jan, stay at the SF with expedia's r.o rates but I'd have to factor in an A.P for myself.
I supose as regards budget do you think spends inc. food can be done for 1ad 2ch for ¬100/day

I have a budget every time I go to DLP - its a maximum of £300 for my APs/park tickets/accommodation, for as many nights and days as I can possibly manage, for 1 adult and one child. I have managed 4 nights and 5 days for that, and stayed inside budget :), at hotels like the Explorers, Magic Circus, Dream Castle, and Santa Fe. If you choose val d'europe or bussy st george hotels/apartments you can do it for even cheaper.

I also can do my spending money, including any park tours, lockers for luggage etc, all food, a little for souvenirs etc for the same 1 adult and 1 child, for around 70 euros per day, without scrimping on the food. So 100 euros per day should be fine for one more child.

Thanks Elaine. In general where do you eat and stick to budget?

We always had a loose budget but to make the APs work we had better scale it back alot. We could do it alot cheaper then every other time and with air fare going up i think a mix of budgeting & offsite acc will be the best ways to save and stretch for extra trips. I thought I could go cold turkey but DLP keeps reeling me in!

I used the budget of €100 per day - two adults, one child with Shareholder discount, so I reckon that will be enough for you :-) This time around the party has two extra children. We are staying off site and taking slow cookers with us! Would mean a trip to the supermarket and staying in a place with a fridge, but we also have Mum and Dad with us in May, so imagine feeding 8 on tight budget (we ALL need new APs and cant afford onsite). We will be having some meals onsite as I'm desperate to eat breakfast in the DLH, but everything else will be ready when we get back :-)

Just got back from my super buget trip took 500 euros and came back with 200 this was 4 days in theparkfor 2 people and we had breakfast at the dlh this trip was also like you a extra as we have a annual pass we stayed val d e Europe check out my trp report

100 eur a day for 1 adult, 2 kids was budget for this trip and we were fine with that. it's really enough for food.

Great report BTW.

I don't go super-budget, we always have one DLH breakfast, I like to have at least one buffet meal, either at Plaza Gardens or Restaurant des Stars too. This past trip we did mostly counter service, including Earl of Sandwich, Hakuna Matata, Colonel Hathis, Lucky Nugget (more expensive but 2 courses and unlimited soft drinks so good value), and the Blockbuster Cafe. We also ate from the set menu at Annettes, and it was loads of food for less than 20 euros for an adult.

Well done in getting off the dreaded weed - I don't understand how anyone can afford to smoke these days! Delighted you are going to feel the benefits of saving so much cash with a trip to DLRP (your health will be so much better too :rotfl2:)

Can't help with budgeting....as always blow mine! :rotfl: but just wanted to say well done and Yay on more planning for a super trip! :lmao:

Am so relieved to see that it wasnt McDonalds all the way for the budget conscious Disers! While one night would be fine (and very cheap), I just hate the thoughts of being on 'holiday' and eating the exact same thing as I can get at home any time.

I love the idea of brekkie at DLH one morning too.

So food is managable - but do you very much so limit presents / souvenirs? We generally bring home magnets for the nannies & aunts and sweets for cousins (about €30 total) plus the kids choose a couple of bits each like a teeshirt and toy to about €25 value.

And TY Jo. Its making quiting so much easier. I have my goal in sight but I think the DLP addiction is stronger then the nicotine one anyway! Im only 26 and I've been smoking over half my life plus our kids hate it that we both smoke and I get anxious about the health risks. I don't want to be painful company as a militant anti smoker for the smokers in my life but hopefully the benefits I'm seeing will rub off on them too!

if your souvenir budget is only around 80 euros total, you won't have to reduce that to still manage on 100 euros per day :). My DD's souvenir budget is around 50 euros per trip, sometimes I buy something there, often I don't.

Thanks everyone. Im going to ponder for another few days and debate between on and offsite (its more a matter of if I want to play chicken with DLP offers).
I think that an October trip will be doable with alot of scrimping but its better then a year long wait until our next trip! :)

I booked the Santa Fe as my fab husband (1st wedding anniversary tomorrow :yay: ) paid for us to upgrade to onsite as my birthday present. I am going to stay at the Kyriad or somewhere in Val dEurope next year though.
We will be booking a stay for DLH for May and after that its offsite all the way :)

Sorry meant to say with the 2 nights free deal we got the Santa Fe for ¬500 and are doing our longest trip ever 5 nights / 4 days.
Super excited... So much so we did a little treasure hunt last Thursday & told the kids..
160 sleeps :)

Aw that's brilliant news! Were the kids very excited??? What a very kind hubby you have;-) it will be so worth giving up the horrible weed....and then DLH....have stayed there and loved it!

Awh Jo, when he said it to me (he had to cause he knew Id have booked before my birthday) I nearly screamed the house down and the kids reacted the exact same way when we revealed it! He gets me! Such a keeper :)

Mam is joining myself & the kids in May and well thats reason enough to justify the DLH! I hope she loves DLP too and I'm dying to treat her because she deserves it and we want to show her how much we appreciate her.
