Booked for DLP today for school hols - end October for 3nts at Newport Bay flying from Manchester. Hard work as couldnt get a package deal - had to book accomm and flights separately - but got a discount!!!

Have lots of guidebooks for WDW Florida but can anyone recommend a good one for DLP?

Thanks Sue.

... we really enjoyed staying at the Newport Bay too :) !
The moment you have checked in, be sure to go straight to concierge to book your breakfasts for every morning!
Do tell us more about your discount!!

Ooh, tell me more - who did you book with etc etc. What sort of discount did you get. This is exactly what i am trying to book, 3 or 4 nights at the Newport Bay for Oct. half term.

thanks for the tip on the guidebook - I have a couple of WDW Unofficial guides and really like them - didnt realise they did one for DLP.

We have been told by Cresta that continental breakfast is included - do we still need to prebook this with concierge?

Rang a few operators - Cresta came up with a couple of rooms at Newport Bay - couldnt get anything with any of the others. They couldnt do flights as well though - so asked them to hold on a 48hour option while I tried to get flights. I have an account with Royal Bank of Scotland called Royalties Gold which I pay £10 a month for - get annual travel policy for family plus 10% off all holidays and flights - rang them they were able to come up with BA flights - good times and gave me 10% off and also took over the accommodation only(and park tickets) booking with Cresta and gave me 10% off that as well.
As they also gave me 10% off my UK holiday in summer - I've saved quite a bit of money with them this year.

Sue, breakfasts get very busy so they have a reservation system. You don't have to book a time, but you might end up at the wrong end of a long queue if you don't, especially if you want to get breakfast at a busy time (8-8.30). Best thing to do is to reserve a time for each day you are at the hotel as soon as you have checked in (the concierge desk is next door to check-in). You can still change your plans if you do have a reservation, but its useful to have a time to beat the worst of the queues.

Regards

Rob
