We are taking my DD to DLP at the end of Aug. for her 1st birthday. I have been looking at our options and with the exchange rate its about $300 a night to stay on property. There are options off property for about $150 a night, but is the convenience of staying on property worth the extra money? I don't want to spend alot of time in the car driving or parking (what are the parking fees?).

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hi lcj19,

which offsite hotels are you looking at? Some of them have free shuttles between the hotels and the parks, so there would be no additional driving or parking fees once you arrive :).

Personally with a little one I would stay as close as I could manage. Apart from naps etc there's more potential for needing something during the day (extra clothes, nappy etc). We stayed at SL when my youngest was 2.5 and even that seemed like a long way sometimes-especially when I left the park tickets in my 'travel' handbag on our first afternoon & DH had to go back and get them while I waited in the village with 3 excited children:rolleyes1

Although there are shuttle buses they aren't instant and for a round trip to fetch something it would be more like a 1/2 hour rather than being 'right there'.
I've never stayed offsite nor in DLH but the HNY seemed much easier than the (still comparatively close) SL, so yes, personally I'd go for the DLH

We are having trouble looking up offsite hotels. Onsite we are looking at Hotel Santa Fe.

You could look at Explorers, Dream Castle, Kyriad or Magic Circus as all these have a shuttle which runs regularly- they are all next to each other and classed as off site but very close.
There are other off site hotels with shuttles but they arent as regular but the ones at Val d'Europe mean you can get the RER (train) there - its just one stop.

The prices you gave in your first post are in dollars - i assume you mean Euros

I meant dollars. I had already converted it, granted it will change by then.
