Just came back from 6 days at DLP, where I run the half marathon on Sunday.

Highs
The weater has been absolutely amazing. Perfect temperatures to run and to visit the parks.
Part of the parks already restored look very good and this is promising for next year when everything should be finished.
The marathon event went well overall. A lot of fun and a lot of people in costumes and with such a great attitude that make this kind of events so fun. I'll certainly run it again next year.
Pork ribs at Cowboy Cookout BBQ.
Mickey and the magicians: great show, I enjoyed it a lot.
Kyriad hotel at Torcy: very cheap but convenient being 3-4 minutes walk from the RER station. Already booked for December.

Lows
The park is currently very sad with all the closed attractions.
The marathon course was nice at the beginning and the end, running in the parks and in the hotels and village. But it was very boring in between.
Also, I've not noticed a lot of spectators. I guess it's because it's still the first year, but a part a few notable exceptions, not many people cheering on the course. A strong contrast with the marathon in WDW.
My knee: I was going quite well (for my standard) in the first half, but then a pain the the knee appeared around the 10°km and then I had to do all the second half walking. I still feel pain today, I hope I've not injured myself. Not a good sign for the training for the marathon in January.

Overall I had a great time.

Congratulations on completing! I hope the knee injury isn't serious and you are soon able to train again. :crutches:

Glad you found enough to enjoy in the parks despite the renovations. Mickey and the Magician is a lovely show isn't it?

Good luck for next year. :goodvibes

I was reading ED92's twitter the other night and the photos and videos from the marathon looked great - so many characters were around, including some rare ones. Many CMs seemed in good spirits too. I saw lots of people walking too...

Glad you managed to finish - hope your knee is OK.

I quite fancy doing the 5K - you won't get me doing a marathon lol! But it's an awkward time as it's school time here - could manage a weekend maybe.

My one gripe about this weekend was that we were staying at the Newport Bay Club which, on a map, has a walkway that should be about a 2 minute walk to where the expo was. Unfortunately that walkway was closed ALL WEEKEND LONG. So we had to add an extra 15 minutes of walking to our days each time we needed to go to or form our hotel to the Expo, parks, or race starts.

Also our meal at the Blue Lagoon was SO BAD!!! We had a reservation at 5:45pm, got seated and it took over an hour for our meals to arrive to our table after our underwhelming appetizers. When it did it had obviously been left under a heat lamp as the sauces had congealed and the rices had overcooked. Furthermore, my mom asked the waiter if there was anything not spicy on the menu and he said that the Shrimp item wasn't spicy. But it was. We took about two bites of our food to find out it was actually awful, and when we asked for a manager we were told "Oh, um, he's off today" When a supervisor (we assume?) finally arrived, she charged us for the eaten appetizers and sodas. We were still hungry and had the half marathon the next morning so we asked our hotel concierge if they could help us with anything to eat- initially he was a bit slow to help us but when we explained the whole situation he sent up some room service for us, free of charge. So kudos to the hotel for helping us out there!

Congratulations on the race, and thanks for your report!
