Hi

Sorry for the delay we have been decorating  our living room this week. Dh layed down some laminate flooring and it looks lovely in there now.

Anyway better had get on with my trip reports.

Day 2 - 16th August

Cast DH 29
Me 27
Casey 6
Callum 2
Ethan 2

Ethan was up at 06:15 again as per usual on this holiday. Casey and Callum were still a sleep. We layed in until 07:30 whilst Ethan played in his sleeping bag and then we all got up. Casey and I went off for a wash and got ready for the day ahead.

I went into the shop and ordered some pain au chocolate we had these for breakfast. We left the campsite at around 09:30 and headed out for Disneyland Studios.

We parked at B13 but it still felt like a long walk. We headed over to the studios and had our bag searched, but really, it was only a peak.

It was around 10:10 when we arrived at the studios and Casey needed to use the loo and Bruce changed the boys while I took Casey to the toilet.

We went into the main studio area where they had shops and En Coulisse restaurant. We were impressed with the theming in here. We came out and noticed they were having a morning parade and headed over to have a peep, but it was finished by the time we arrived. Time seems to go so fast. We headed over to Animagique but it was only 10:25 so we had a little time to waste. I noticed they had Scully so we went to wait to have our pic done, but unfortunately, he had to go in so we headed over to Mr. Incredible instead. We managed to get a lovely photo of the children and Mr. Incredible.

It was now 10:40 so we had 5 minutes until Animagique started so we went straight over and found some spare seats in the back. Luckily, it was not that busy so we did not have anyone in front for at least five rows. I completely embarrassed myself in this show. Before the show started, Casey kept saying I do not understand what they are saying, so I was telling Casey what they were saying. I noticed a man went around with a sign saying no flash photography. Therefore, I thought it was ok to record, so we had some record of the show. So this is what happened.

The show starts so I get my camcorder out and start recording and within in 2 mins I had a CM come up to me and said no recording, because I thought it was no flash photography I replied "Its not a flash camera" he said "I know your not allowed to record for data protection" I instantly turned it off and apologized several times and I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me up. I was so embarrassed. :bitelip: :guilty: Bruce apparently knew we were not allowed to record but thought it would be funny for me to be told off I was not impressed with him but saw the funny side. We all loved animagique show, but I felt it was copying the little mermaid a bit and a little dated. I still think it should be replaced with Phillarmagic or keep this show and change Honey I Shrunk the Audience with Phillarmagic. Overall, we were impressed so far.

After the show, we went on the flying carpets ride. We waited for about 10 minutes. Callum and Ethan loved this ride and did not want to come off, but we wanted to see Mickey Mouse and have our picture taken with him.

We waited for about 15 minutes to have our picture taken with Mickey. Casey was so excited as she has not seen Mickey Mouse yet and she really wanted to have a cuddle. She was so cute when we she went up to him. Again a lovely family photo.

After Mickey Mouse, it was about 12:15 so we decided to grab an early lunch. We went to Encoulise. The children had nuggets, chips and ice cream. Bruce and I had burger and chips. We liked the theme of the restaurant and so far, we were having a fab time. The food was poor and our burgers tasted like a cheap burger you would buy from a high street burger vendor. We were not impressed :crazy2:

It was around 13:15 so we went over to Armageddon. As we were going through the lines there were two Italians in front of us and then they started shouting to their family to join them. There must have been at least 10 and within that 10 people, Ethan got pushed back of the line and we could not see him. I started to panic as Ethan could easily run out of the line and run anywhere in the park. I am trying to hold my hand up and saying stop to the gentleman who was trying to join his family. I just wanted to get our bearings, but they would not stop and kept barging past me and Bruce managed to get Ethan again. It was so scary and I was so annoyed that they would not just stop as Ethan was getting pushed further and further back and eventually he was squashed in between visitors and a pole that were waiting behind us. Bruce managed to grab Ethan before being squashed. After we got over that event the CM said we had to wait in Studio B as we were going through Ethan got hit by the turnstiles on his head and made a big bruise as the CM literally pushed him through the turnstiles and due to his height he got hit. No apology zilch from the CM. Again, this put Bruce in a foul mood so I was then unhappy again. All she had to do was be patient and the visitors would be eventually in. It was not as if we went straight in. We all stood in the gated area for a further 20 minutes like sardines. The kids being trodden on and people smoking :smokin: in a tight area :confused3 . Anyway, we then went into the studio to then find we had to stand through another 10 minute show of a CM showing us what we are supposed to be recording. Eventually after an apparent 15 minute wait turned into a 45 wait, we were in the room. Three people deep. Ethan got scared when the fire came out of the tunnel and the wind starting to blow so I picked him up and gave him a cuddle. After the Armageddon show and I say show, it was nothing better than a show. We decided it was rubbish it did not do anything for us at all. Perhaps because we had a bad experience with the CM and visitors it had already been spoilt. It reminded me of the Twister show in Universal Studios, which we also thought was rubbish.

After Armageddon, we went to see the Rock N Roller Coaster ride, but having been on it in Florida I again was not too bothered to wait. The wait time was 55 minutes. Bruce grabbed a couple of fast passes in case we changed our minds. We sat down and had a drink. We had to wait an hour until we could wait for the Lights Camera Action Show. By this time Bruce had enough I said look the boys are a sleep lets look in a couple of shops and take Casey to see Donald Duck.

We had a look in a couple of shops and then went to see Donald Duck. I sat down with the boys whilst Casey and Bruce went to see Donald Duck. Casey embarrassed Bruce by saying to Donald Duck that Donald was her dad’s favourite character. We went into the shops at the courtyard and bought Casey a Minnie Mouse who was dressed in a pink dress. We came out of the shop and noticed Minnie and Goofy were there. Typical of DLP there was no order of a line literally a semi circle with mums and dads pushing there children into the character for their picture to be taken. I went up to the characters and looked who was there before us and waited as they had their photos taken. A Spanish woman tried to push her daughter in front of Casey but I managed to get Casey to Minnie without pushing her to Minnie first. We took a lovely deceiving picture. The picture makes getting a photo taken with the characters as easy as pie and nobody was around instead the people were likes bees swarming around the character. We also got a picture taken with Goofy, but poor Goofy was backed into a corner.

It was time to go and wait for Lights Camera Action, as we had to be there 45 minutes prior to show start time. We waited in line for about 15 minutes and they started to let us into the stadium. We managed to get some good seats in the back row. The kids were quite good waiting for the show, but at times the boys wanted to try to jump onto the other seats. When the show started the boys were loving it, but as soon as they started to make bang noises they literally cried but soon stopped. It was an emotional show for the boys. One minute they loved it and the next they hated it. When Herbie came out Callum and Ethan loved it. Casey liked it but thought it was a little boyish. I was recording the stunts so we could show our family when we came back. The problem was I did not want to record all the little bits in between so I turned off my camera. I missed the finale Bruce was not impressed with me. But hey ho things happened.

As soon as we got out of the show, we sat down for the 5:00pm parade. The kids loved the parade. Bruce was taking many photos. My camera battery decided to give up on me and we could not charge it up as we were camping. Bruce and I was not that impressed with the parade. It was the same theme as Florida but Florida was bigger and much better. It was still good to see and main thing was the kids loved it.

We decided to pop over to Disneyland Park but to be honest I could of gone straight back to the tent, my legs were really hurting by now. Bruce and the kids loved it so I thought I would keep my mouth shut.

It was busy and we could hardly move around the park. We headed straight for the Buzz ride to find the wait time was 55 minutes and no fast passes. Disappointed as we were we headed for it is a Small World. After it is a small world, we went on Pirates of the Caribbean. We really enjoyed Pirates of the Caribbean and I feel this is much better than the one in Florida. I am not sure now that apparently the one in Florida has Captain Jack Sparrow in. It would be good to see him in the DLP version. Bruce went on the Temple of Peril. He said it was rattly, well themed and general good fun. I did not go on this ride, as it did not really appeal to me. Although the wait time for this ride for five mins. We were so shocked considering the park was packed. We went to look in a few shops and bought Casey some Mickey ears.

We were hungry and I had enough of the parks, as my feet were so sore. We went to look in McDonalds at the village, but it was packed so we could not sit down and eat. Bruce suggested we went back to Disneyland Park to eat, but at this point, my feet were so sore I did not want to go back. I said I remembered seeing a McDonalds on the way home. Bruce said okay we would eat there.

We walked to the car and we all felt tired. We went to the petrol station where Bruce bought some snacks for us. As we went onto the A4 a big thunderstorm broke out so it was lucky we did not stay in the park as we would all look like drowned rats. We could hardly see in front of us on the road. It was a little hairy driving back. Only other problem was could we find a McDonalds that I claimed to see when we were lost the other night NO….. We could not find it at all. I felt like a right muppet. Bruce said we probably found it because we were on the wrong road whoops. :bitelip:

As soon as arrived back at the tent the kids were tired and had some snacks and went to bed. We soon followed and had a good nights sleep.

We had a great day and I liked the studios, but felt it was a little too small but has a lot of potential. Yeah a great end to a great day!

Sounds as though you enjoyed today...sorry to hear about your poor little one getting crushed in Armageddon.....I didn't really rate this ride either!

Lovely photos!!!!!

Yes, so sorry about poor Ethan. :grouphug: I didn't rate Armageddon either ~ I can remember thinking "is that all?" after all the big build-up. When we did it a second time it seemed a bit better because we knew what to expect but we didn't bother to do it once this trip.

Lovely photos, especially the ones of your children with Mr Incredible and Mickey. :)

Inspite of Ethan's mishap report is great and photos are lovely :)

Another excellent day ~ Hope Ethan recovered quickly.

Hi

Ethan was okay. He did not seem to bothered I think it was Bruce and I who were panicing. Thanks for your comments. I will post day 3 tomorrow night.

:thumbsup2

beautiful photos of the children with the characters. It's a shame that Disney are unable to sort those queues out

Jan

Lovely photos of your children! :thumbsup2 The queuing system (or lack of it) sounds a nightmare. And your poor son, getting squashed. I would have been angry. :furious:

Sara. :)

you have got some lovely pictures, sorry about what happened to your little boy, I can understand how angry you must of felt.
I remember when I was shopping at the Trafford Centre and my dd got hit in the eye with a handbag so hard that people nearby gasped in shock at the women who did it. she must of noticed what had happened though did not stop to say sorry. I was livid!
