Was really hoping to be able to book a stay at the Disneyland Hotel for Presidents week in February. I had to wait until 7 months out and when that time came, there was nothing available for studios. What do you think my chances are of waitlisting those days? We are specifically hoping for Sunday 2/15 - Saturday 2/21. Hate to buy flights and not be able to get a room.

Here is what you do. At 7 months it’s fair game. At this location search “accessible”. You might find a “hearing” room that is visually identical. Can still waitlist a regular room or different category. Be surprised what might be available.

Yes. You can also have MS notate that you aren't in need of one and can switch you to a regular room if they need an accessible room for a guest
But if I did that, and someone called wanting an accessible room, could I lose out on a room? Right now there are no regular rooms available.

No they aren't going to cancel your room to give it to someone else. They have ways they make it work. But you dont have to make that notation if it makes you nervous

7 days is a long period of time for a room there in a high demand time, but the tower is new enough that I can't predict. Wait list the preferred view room and the standard. You'll still need to stalk the website daily and grab whatever comes open. You might end up booking a few rooms at a time.

Is it possible for them to move you to the hotel side of the resort if you dont need the HA room?

No, it would have to be extenuating circumstances for them to move you to the hotel side like a maintenance issue that cannot be resolved with you in the room and there are no other rooms in Discovery Tower for your stay.

When I booked our September trip, the only thing available was preferred view studio and I did not see any point in a special view for a studio without balcony, but still booked what was available. Then ä I waitlisted standard view. 7 nights. Some time in May my waitlist came through. September might be less in demand than President‘s Day, but I never expected a whole week to just pop up.
