I thought I read on here a while back about having balloons in your room when you arrive? Is this something anyone can call and get? How much does it cost? Is there anything else I can have waiting in the room for us that my 4 year old DD would enjoy?

Yes... you can ask at the front desk and they will do them there, we have always used Disney Vacation Planning department to help with that sort of stuff - balloons, signed 8x10 black and whites of a variety of characters, we have also through them got mickey head rice krispie squares sent to the room, cookies and milk, chocolates, etc...

We booked a package, staying at Paradise Pier, and I never contacted them ahead of time. But when we checked in, the CM asked if we were celebrating anything. We were, our anniversary (albeit a month late...we purposely didn't celebrate it on the day so our celebration was the trip), and when we said that she ran to the back and came back out (eventually) with Happy Anniversary buttons for the two of us, a big bouquet of pink and red balloons for me and DH, and two blue and purple balloons for our son. :)

I have a strong feeling that if I had contacted the hotel ahead of time, this could have been waiting for us in the room.

As for other things, there is Vacation Planning, which is like another sort of hotel's Concierge desk. They can help you arrange things, and it's open to anyone staying at a Disneyland resort. According to the email I got from them in September, you can call them at: (714)300-7526 option 2

There are all sorts of things you can order through them (gift baskets and such!), and they'll also probably send you an email of Room Service things you can order like wildly expensive cookies and milk (though I don't think THOSE things can be waiting in your room...what if you were delayed? ew!).

We did arrive a bit late on our first trip to DL staying at the Grand... the milk was in fancy glasses sitting on ice..

For each trip, we've left princess nightgowns with guest services for DD. We do this during check-in which is always before noon. When we get back at night, they have it layed out on her bed with baloons and a signed B&W photo of the princesses

I hear so many good things about the disney hotels there just so much money! :guilty: ...... Next time were going with friends and i know they won't want disney hotel.... but i think once all the kids are a bit older.... inc baby on the way so maybe like 2-3 years i want to save the money and do the hotel.... it really seems to be worth it..... if you got the money

Now this is something I would be interest in for my girls. Did you have to pay for the balloons and photo?

What a fabulous idea - and what a wonderful surprise for your DD! :cutie:

No, you just have to ask... :) THey will do them for all the members of your family if you ask... and personalize them..

We didn't get any when we checked in last week, but I had no idea that you could request them in advance. I'd call them, they are always so helpful.

I love that idea!!

I already bought my DD a pair of Ariel PJ's and I haven't showed them to her yet, so I think I'll do that with them!

Thanks for all the info!

We'll be there on Easter Sunday. I arranged to have baskets delivered that day- Minnie, Tink, and Mickey from the Easter Bunny. They'll be so happy that the Bunny didn't forget them. I'm also going to hide a few eggs with Disney Dollars around the room.

After you check in, there is a small office for guest services where they will take care of it for you. The check in Cms aren't the ones who do it

Last year for my birthday, when my Mom made the reservations at PPH, she told them it was my birthday, and reminded them again at Check In.

They had balloons and a card for me already in the room, along with candy and Mickey Rice Krispies. At check in, the CM's gave me a Happy Birthday button and more balloons and a signed picture of Peter Pan. :lovestruc
