Does anyone know the rules for the waterslide at the DLH? I know that at the PPH there are no doubles allowed so essentially toddlers cannot ride, is it the same at the DLH?

Also has anyone seen or have links to the toddler pool area at the DLH?

Just trying to decide between the two.

your best bet on this one would be to call the Hotel directly and ask.

The DLH has multiples slides. Including are racing slides (side by side) that are very slightly tilted and meant for the smallest kids.

My two DDs used these slides. They're small enough that I could hold my 2yr old's hand as she went down.

We were there in August and I asked if I could go down with my 2 year old and they said no double riders, so she couldn't ride the bigger slides. There is the little side by side one another poster mentioned, so that would be the only slide for a toddler.

They hadn't finished construction of all the pools when we were there, so I'm not sure if there is another toddler pool area, but the area near the slides wasn't very impressive for toddler play.

Thanks for all the replies. I spoke to a CM at the WDTC yesterday who told me that all of the pool areas at the DLH should be open for our end of Jan beginning of Feb trip.

It's too bad no double riders but I figured as much since it's the same at the PPH.

I'm not too concerned about how great the toddler play area is at the DLH since the pool at the PPH isn't anything more than a circle but my son spent hours there regardless.

FWIW - My 2yo and 4yo went down the big slide at PPH in September. Lifeguard just asked them to put on life jackets, which are supplied. They LOVED it.

ETA: No doubles on that slide. Also, smaller kids have a tendency to turn sideways on their way down. But they didn't mind. Just be ready to meet them at the bottom.

The rest of the DLH pool area will be done by the end of the month. It will have another spa and a large pool. No more splash play area or slides, but it will help disperse the crowds.

By then end of this month? (Fingers Crossed)

Yes, November has been the end date of the project for a few months now, previously it was planned to be done by the end of the year.

If you look at current pictures it's down to finish work and landscaping. The big concrete work is wrapped up. The details on the pool are really cool.

Hooray! I had also read "end of the year" and was worried because our honeymoon at DLH is at the beginning of December. :)
