DLH v. GC

My husband and I are travelling to DL with our 3 and 5 year old daughters in mid-Oct. I know the difference in price between these two hotels. Aside from that, which hotel would be better for us -- location, pool, etc.? Thanks.

Well, I like the DLH's pool better, but they're both nice.

GC is closer to both parks with a private entrance to DCA. DLH is close to the monorail, but that's not always a convient way to get to the park.

In short, GC is going to mean less walking...generally.

I would go with the GC. Though the DHL has a great pool for kids, you can't beat being closer to the parks than GC!

Definetely GC. They have a pool too! It has a treeslide and my kids liked it better even though we are true Peter pan freaks! You will appreciate the close walk as well with little ones.

If your kids still take naps in the middle of the day like our son (4yo), the GC is the way to go. You just can't beat the convenience!

As far as the actual rooms...I have stayed at both (standard) and like the DLH room better. Bigger, nicer decor. The location is what you cant beat. At the DLH we usually took the monorail, which was ok and did not have much of a wait. But to walk that close from GC is unbeatable.
My kids would swim in a little blow up pool ,so they dont care where they swim.Breakfast at Grandvilles in DLH is THE BEST!! Goofys is ok to get a character breakfat but if you want a great meal at good prices (half what it costs at Goofys) then you must eat there. Whitewater snacks in GC was our favorite. Made to order, good food and refillable cup. Have fun. Both hotels are great.
