I just called and talked to someone on the DL Hotel line. She said the only notes they have on the room renovations for the DLH is that they are starting in Aug 2009 and renovations will be done during daylight hours only. They are starting with the Dreams Tower (formerly known as Sierra Tower) which faces DTD. She said there's no way to guarantee a renovated room, but you can book a certain tower and request a room, and they will put it in your notes. She also said no rooms are "given" to anyone until you are standing right in front of them checking in. So perhaps your chances are increased if you are the first to check in that day???
The entire tower isnt shut down or anything, they're just working room by room. So you could have a chance of getting a renovated room in the next few months if you ask, I would think. I hope they have a considerable amount done by the end of Feb, when we are going!
