Any updated photos of the DLH pool progress?? We are headed there the end of June and are hoping it will be completed.

I don't think the pool area will be finished by then. We are going in June as well, and this time I don't think we will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel. We stayed there last month and everything was such a mess. We paid for a upgrade to a refurbished room with a lower tower view when we made our reservations. I called 3 times prior to our trip to try to get a downtown Disney view of the Christmas tree rather than a pool view, but we were placed in view of the pool area (tarps, cement mixers, and large dump trunks every where). Of course we tried to change rooms, but the CM said there was nothing to be done. We stay at the Disneyland Hotel about twice a year and I am usually their biggest fan, but this was so disappointing. We were told we were actually lucky, because they could have placed us in the Wonder Tower which is still under construction in a new room with the same view, so at least we got the Dreams tower.

From what I have read, the remodel won't be complete until 2012. I think there will still be major construction of the pool area going on in June. Were you told it is suppose to be done by June? I guess it is possible, but I really don't see how.

The other thing to be aware of is that the Disneyland Hotel has changed it room reservation pricing. You now must pay extra to get a remodeled room (in the beginning of the remodeling process, you could simply request a remodeled room and had a pretty good chance of getting one). They have it listed in differnent levels--a "preferred room" is code for a remodeled room, a deluxe view is a lower tower view, and a premium view is a upper tower view. The chance being upgraded to one of these rooms without paying for it is very slim. We have stayed in all levels of the rooms at the Disneyland Hotel, and have never been upgraded without paying for it.

If you call the Disneyland Hotel directly they will only say that the refurbishment of the resort is scheduled to be done in 2012, but their are no garauntees. Anyone else have more information?

This was our view when we were there last month:

As far as the pool, it's being done in halves. So one half, the best for kids side, I would expect to be done for summer. The other half maybe the end of summer. That sort of work can go very fast.

The Hotel rooms though is another story. Since they are doing the rooms one sixth at a time they should be done with this section very soon. By the time OP gets there 3/6 will be done and 1/6 under contruction with 1/3 left.

It is still good to take PP's advice and look for a preferred room.

we are hoping to book a Club level room. Are those refurbed yet??

If the pool is not completed we will stay at the GC instead. Being from the east we have seen pool renovations at WDW take only 6 months (Polynesian and GF) but DL must be different.

Anyone else that has more info please share.

The difference here is that it isn't a refurb- they knocked out waterfalls and buildings and are constructing an entirely new pool area.

According to the official Disney blog from about 6 months ago, the brand new pool and slide area are due to be completed summer of 2011. I don't know if that means beginning or end of summer, but I wouldn't count on it being done in June. I'm sure they're aiming for before the summer travel season, but one never knows.

Once that area is open, they'll begin work on the other pool (currently known as the Neverland pool). That's due to be completed summer of 2012. One pool will always be open, but you'll hear construction noise as you attempt to relax on your lounge chair!

CL rooms, the suites, have been completed, not all but some as 1 of the 3 towers is complete.

The DLH has more than one pool, the largest pool, Neverland is being redone right now. Complete tear down and complete new build. If you have been there this is the pool that had skull rock and the pirate ship. Since the two pool areas are being done in phases I'm sure the first phase will be ready for summer. The whole hotel will be done in 2012.
