We booked the Grand Californian Villas for 4 nights in August. Since it's cheaper to take a flight the night before our GCV check-in, we're going to arrive the night before. We want to book either DLH or PPH for the one night. Is one better than the other? Any suggestions?

Depends on what you like.......if you like classic, dark rich wood colors, overlooking Downtown Disney or the pool area then DLH is a good pick. If you like the beach theme, light woods and brighter rooms, overlooking the Paradise Pier area of Disney's California Adventure then the PPH would be for you.

Understand that either hotel with a view of something other than the parking lots will cost extra. Both are very nice....we prefer the PPH so we can watch the World of Color show from our room......the park all lit up is a sight to see.

IMHO- what are you looking for? If it's just a place to sleep, go PPH.
Last year we celebrated an X0 anniversary. Decided to do PPH concierge. Had an absolute awesome time. Plus it was the same price as a regular room at the DLH.

For me, it's PPH because it's closer especially if you have little ones and plan on hitting the park in the evening. In the end, both are great choices.

Have fun!

After staying at both, I prefer PPH, mainly for its closer proximity to the parks. Also the cheaper price.
