DLH/GCH split stay

We’re planning a split stay the first part of June, and I’m wondering how easy will it be on “hotel switch day”.

Has anyone done this recently? I’m wondering if DLH will move our luggage to GCH? If so, how late can I keep my car at DLH? (Should I move it in the morning or at mid-day?)

I'm not sure about the luggage transfer but I do know you can leave your car in the DLH lot all day on day of checkout so you can move it whenever is convenient for you.

I did a split stay last October due to flights getting cancelled. It was super easy. I just took our luggage to bell services, they took them to the Grand and we had bell services deliver once we got into our new room.

I tried contacting the resort about this for our July visit and they told me they would give me a luggage cart to roll from DLH to Grand Cal?!? I've never been to DLR, but looking at the map, I think this would be awkward/difficult. I hope it isn't a new change and this person just didn't know what they were talking about!

No, they never give a guest a bell cart. You either call bell services to get your luggage, or take it to bell services. They will move it to bell services at the other hotel.

Fortunately, I think you just got someone who didn't know what they were talking about. I've never been been allowed to handle my own luggage cart at Disney, bell services always does it.
