Hello,

I've not been on for a while, but was planning a big 2012 trip to celebrate some special events, but due to health reasons our plans have had to go on hold:sad2:

We've decided that as we are having to postpone our trip, we are going to save hard and treat ourselves to a stay at DLH :). Seeing as we are going to have time to save up, is it worth going for Castle Club or are the standard rooms at DLH luxury enough?! We are a family of 5, so not sure if Castle Club rooms accommadate 5? And price wise, is it ridiculously more expensive to go for Castle Club?

Would be grateful if anyone who has stayed at DLH could give us their honest opinions.

Many thanks

Hi,

Carrie_Cat posted this link recently, it gives you the full price per night, room only, for the standard rooms at the DLH. Castle Club rooms are more per night, and while the standard room packages do attract good discounts, the Castle Club rooms usually do not attract any discount at all -

http://www.disneycentralplaza.com/t...ans-entrees-par-nuit?highlight=prix+des+nuits

So it might give you an idea of the price, but really you'd have to call Disney to get an idea of a package price for 5 for Castle Club for the dates you're thinking of (and be sitting down when you call ;)).

I have stayed in a standard room a couple of years back, its a nice hotel & the location is great but I personally would not stay there again unless I get 50% off like I did before as I feel its not worth the extra they charge over the other hotels, that of course is just my opinion others will vary. I don't spend enough time in the room to warrent the extra cost.

The HNY was my fave but the SL is slowly creeping in to take that place.

Thank you so much for your help. :)

I have priced up Castle Club  and really do not think it's worth all the extra money. I like the idea of having somewhere to go for a drink without all the crowds, maybe it would be more worthwhile to become a shareholder and visit Salon Mickey - at least you get other perks with your card too!

I'm really swayed by the hot breakfasts and proximity to the parks as we will be visiting in winter, so think I'll go for a standard family room and try to get one in a good part of the hotel.

Do the Flash sales cover DLH? The 40% offers are fab, as are the 30% ones if we manage to get the under 12s deal too.

yes the flash sales cover the standard rooms at the DLH.

Depending on how long you go for it can be 50% off. We've just booked 4 nights which includes 2 nights free - so I'm viewing that as being the same as 50% off but not sure if I'm correct in that or not :)

For me, the VIP Fastpass was the main advantage of Castle Club and that's what I was going to price it up for. I'm sure it's not worth the extra for the room alone.

If you want to get a taste of Castle Club have a look at Adam's (rottie155) trip reports - he's stayed CC a few times.
Disneyland Paris Direct has the costs for the castle club rooms. According to the website the Castle Club rooms sleep 4 adults and 1 infant. The family rooms sleep 5 adults.

That sounds a bit misleading if they're stating that as the family room sleeps 5 people but it's 4 adults and 1 child (under 12), not 5 adults. As for other rooms, as far as I know all the DLP Disney hotel rooms sleep 4 adults and 1 infant.

I stayed castle club quite a while ago now. In 2007 and I have also stayed standard at the DLH. There wasn't much difference in the two rooms to be honest. It is the service that is the difference, It is probably not worth the extra but can understand paying for it if it is easily affordable as they are nice extras.

I doubt I will ever be staying castle club again as it is far to expensive. We could get two trips at the HNY instead.
