I know that you can not use the extra night free at cc however can you still use the child goes free place?

I would say yes. I have looked at the official DLRP brochure and on page 4 of the price guide it says it is available at the Disneyland Hotel and does not list any exclusions ie Suites, Castle Club.

Yes you definately can. We used child goes free for 4 days in CC 2 weeks ago.
