My family and I just booked our trip to include the DLH for 4 nights. We now have another family joining us on the trip so I tried to get a 2 bedroom suite but they didn't have any available. We are now making our reservations seperately so how do I go about reserving hotels rooms close by or adjoining. Any ideas would be helpful.

DLH will not guarantee adjoining rooms to anyone. But, I would think that if you checked in together they could try to accomodate you. Another way would be to add their room to your reservation and have them notate the request for adjoining and do it that way and then just settle the cost between the two of you.

When are you going? It's possible that there may be a cancellation prior to your trip and a 2 bedroom might open up, so it might be worth it to keep checking.

We are going in mid April. If we were to get a cancellation would that be a change in the reservation and incur a change fee.

Make sure that if you want the door that opens between them to say "connecting rooms" not adjoining. For whatever reason, that's the term you need to specifically say (per the hotel last time I need two connecting rooms at the GCH).

Disney allows cancellations up to 72 hrs in advance w/o penalty for room only reservations. Packages I'm not sure about as I've never done that.

Cancellation fees for packages vary. I booked a package last month and the fees they quoted me started at $ 25 per person if you cancelled way in advance up to a severe chunk of the toal after you paid the remainder of the balance.

Yes, I'm sorry, I was basically going with the notion that you had booked hotel only and not a complete package. You can change and add rooms to your reservations up until 72 to 48 hours (depending on the hotel, you would need to ask them what their specific rules are) before your arrival date.

With a package, you need to take a look at the fine print, like some of the other posters have said the fees can get pretty steep depending on who you booked with.
