DL vs DCA

For us, DCA used to be the place where we'd go for a few hours to hit some rides. Now that CarsLand and BVS is open, it is a completely different park. It finally feels lime a full fledged park that can stand on its own. We were talking the other day about how we hardly go into DL anymore because we have so much fun at DCA!

The scenery is nice but it lacks the soul that Disneyland has, too much of it gives the impression of being created by committee rather than vision. Muppet vision was nice, as is the monsters inc and ariel, however the parade routes lock you into parts of the park which can be incredibly frustrating. We also became stuck early on in the rapids ride near the top of the first rise, we sat there for 20 minutes in very humid 90+ degree heat, eventually a cast member came out to give the "sorry you are about to die from head stroke, we will likely have to pull you out of the ride that you waited 40 minutes for", there are so many bottlenecks that you spend more time waiting for the drops than actually riding the ride, it was not comfortable. Later stepped in gum because no one sweeps that park. Later had a moment of terror upon realizing that water was gushing out of the bottom of a toilet in the restroom. Its sad think that Lowes and even wal mart has better restrooms in their stores...which has a better flow and capacity, than any of those that disney has. The restrooms are also not cleaned nearly enough, while many of the stall locks have been torn off and hastily "repaired" in the most slip shod fashion. DCA also lacks that amazing customer service that DL has, many of the employees at DCA are just plain rude. Especially at the tower of terror and with some of the food carts.

If you can only do one part, do DL. But if you have the time, you need to do both. Everyone else has mentioned the great rides in DCA. Carsland is everything you have heard it is. And not doing Toy Story Midway Mania? Say it isn't so!

For the little ones, definitely check out Bug's Land, Arial, and Monster's Inc. (not that scary a ride at all). But avoid the show It's Tough to be a Bug. That one's a little freaky.
