DL, Universal and the Dodgers

We are taking our children to DL August 24-31st. We are planning to go to Universal studios as well.

What I am wondering is... my dh has been a dodgers fan since he was a little kid. He is a HUGE baseball fan... huge, huge, huge faithful dodgers fan and he has never seen a Major League game.

We are celebrating our anniversary while in DL and there is a Dodgers game on Aug 29th and 30th. The friday there will be fireworks. He has suggested we go see the anaheim angels who will be playing Minnesota so we are going to the afternoon game on the Thursday.

But I was wondering if we go to Universal (with transportation) is it reasonable to get a cab to take us to the Dodger stadium to see the friday night game? Are they a decent distance apart, meaning would I be spending a fortune on a cab?

I really would like to surprise him with this. Instead of getting back on the bus to take us home from Universal we will go to the game and I will say "Surprise, Happy Anniversary!"

I thought I could hire Orange County limosine to take us back to PP.

I would appreciate ANY Knowledge anyone has on this. Seeing as I don't have a clue of locations or distances.

Can't wait to hear from someone. This will be such a GREAT surprise for my great husband.

My DH is a huge BB fan too, in fact I sent him to Cooperstown for his 40th B-day !
I don't have a lot of advice....but I do want to assure you that the Angel's stadium is a very nice facility....with better food than the Dodgers . Besides....you might see the Rally Monkey !

Not sure how much a cab ride would cost....

Another idea: check the Dodgers web site. They are now running a shuttle service.

Dodger Stadium is right next to Downtown L.A., right up the hill from Chinatown. USH is pretty close, but you have to travel through downtown. It's only about 20 minutes away if there's no traffic, but rush hour can make it much worse. Disneyland is about 45-60 minutes away from Dodger Stadium.
