DL Trader SAM’s ETB hours?

So I’m used to having to arrive prior to WDWs 4pm opening time in order to get a seat at Trader Sam’s GG, but in DL I understand the opening time is 11.30am?

Given the earlier opening, is there a time range during which you can pretty much walk up and get a seat vs when it gets busy and you’d need to wait?

Usually between opening until about 2-3pm is decent. Weekends earlier is better I find. I tend to stay for several hours if I can though so find 1pm is great.

What about after park close on a weekend? I presume it’s packed then?

We're hoping to get dinner at Trader Sam's on our last day (a Friday). If we show up between 4:30/5:00, how painful is that wait going to be?

I pretty much count on Trader Sam's just being luck of the draw. There aren't many tables, and trying to get a seat at the bar is even trickier because there aren't many spots. So even if it's a time of day that's not that busy, it can still be full. OTOH, I usually haven't found that many people who are just hanging out waiting for a spot. I think a lot of people just go somewhere else if there are very many people in front of them. I think the longest we've waited was 45 minutes.

We are early bird people and are usually waiting for Sam's to open so we lineup at about 11. Often times there are a dozen or so people in line by the time they open at 11:30. We prefer the bar seats so this strategy works for us. I will say that we notice a slight lull about an hour after they open and seats both at the bar and tables can be had. Per the skippers that we have come to know they say that 3 to 3:30 is when they often get slammed.
