DL Ticket Prices - Am I Missing something?

We are WDW vets planning to visit DL this summer. When looking at the ticket options (through DL direct and other sources), I noticed the 1 day-1 park tickets are less per day than buying multiple day-1 park tickets. If we know for sure we are not going to park hop, for our dates it is actually cheaper to buy 3 1 day-1 park tickets instead of a 3 day-1 park ticket. I realize if we are going to add hopping we would have to pay for each ticket vs. paying once for a 3 day but that is the only advantage I can think of for buyng a multiday ticket.



Am I missing anything else? Thanks!

Did you check the actual dates you are planning on reserving? Prices start at $104 per day for a single day ticket but only for some days. The prices are variable if you are buying 1 day passes and go up to something like $179 per day. You'll have to check the reservation calendar on the next page of the website to see how much the actual day you want costs. If you buy multi day passes then the prices are the same for any days you reserve and you don't have to worry about variable pricing. Might end up being better to buy the multi day pass after all unless you really luck out with your dates.

If you can buy tickets on base, why aren't you buying the specially priced Armed Forces Salute 3 day tickets? A 3 day hopper is $241. That's cheaper than 3 single park tickets and you will have the ability to hop if you want. It's the cheapest way to visit Disneyland.

Yeah, buying 3 individual tickets is the cheapest way, then.

If you buy a one day ticket that is for a certain date, and you decide to go on a different date that is a higher price, are you able to make that change online and get a park reservation (and pay the price difference) in advance? Or do you have to ”upgrade“ to the new date at the ticket window (which would be terrible for out of town folks who might miss out on a park reservation by waiting until the day of to make this change)?

You can’t upgrade online in that way. You can have them cancel and refund the value of the ticket via chat and then buy the new ticket. If you go to the window they basically do the same thing, cancel and refund the ticket and then rebook if there are reservations available.
