Sounds interesting, it would also co-incide with the 50th year celebration at DL (assuming they do anything for that...)Weve heard a bit more info on a possible update to Space Mountain being considered. Were returning once again to the rumors of gutting the existing ride and replacing it with a whole new thrill ride... possibly one with inversions that be themed more like the one in Paris. The funny part is that the timing would be just right to gut DLs Space Mountain and send the pieces to Hong Kong to reuse for their new version. Not that anyone has said such a thing to me... its a thought though. Anyway... the interesting part of this rumor is it would move the queue to the CircleVision/Rocket Rods building, and use the underground queue to the old Rocket Rods Tower to load the train. From there it would use the old Rocket Rod bridgework once again to send the train down Tomorrowland and into Star Tours before it would hit the launch track area (inside the long empty top floor of the Starcade) and launch the coasters right into the Space Mountain dome at full speed. You would return on a new bit of track that came out of the mountain and went straight back to the CircleVision building. Sounds wild...but almost too wild to be true for Disney to attempt. Plus there would be quite a few logistical nightmares to deal with as well. On the negative side... weve heard they are working on all new entertainment options such as an all new version of the Believe fireworks show as well an updated Fantasmic! Then there is always talk about new Parades... but I hope they learned their lesson from Floridas 100 Years Parades. New parades are nice but are just not enough to get people into the parks.
