We were there last year. We had a wonderful time! We were there on New Year's eve Day right when it opened, and went on virtually every ride without much waiting in line. We remarked on how easily it was all going. As the day grew later, the park grew more crowded. I had been advised to get our hats and horns just as soon as we saw them being given out, and they were given out over an hour ahead of the time they told us. My 5 yr old loved blowing the horn and wearing the hat for hours before midnight! The rest of us did too and we received so many "Happy New Year's!" that the time leading up to the count down was really festive and special. Now, on the downside...it was COLD! We had never visited in January with kids and out until 2 a.m. and it was cold. Also, about an hour before midnight you can't really move from your spot. It is literally shoulder to shoulder. The countdown was swift...with entertainment while you wait. Afterwards we actually had the energy to close the place! In spite of the cold and crowds I would do it again in a hearbeat! Have the best time!!
I have gone on New Years Eve every year since 1999, and LOVE it. Lots of people think I'm crazy. But is it fun and PACKED. Wall to Wall people. But the energy is incredible.
Has anyone seen the new year arrive in California Adventure? We were in Disneyland last year and had a great time. What goes on in DCA? Are there more things for the younger kids to celebrate with? Can you see the fireworks?
