Hi - I live in Northern CA and my two sons and I try to go to DLand every summer. Last August, we upgraded our tickets to an AP thinking we'd come down a couple times during school breaks. Well, we've had 3 different trips planned all that got cancelled for conflicts.

I just booked a trip for May. I initially booked May 16-19 then my son informed me of an important school event on the 17th. So, I rebooked for May 19 - 22.

So, now I learn that May 19th is the POC 3 premier. The boys are excited thinking they'll get to see lots of stars. (Come on mom...can't you buy tickets!!! LOL) I've explained that unless Hollywood suddenly discovers my star potential, there is no way they'll get into the premier! (Although one of my sons is convinced that if Mylie Cyrus catches a glimpse of him, it will be love at first site!!)

How crazy will it be those days? I was hoping that we'd have a nice peaceful visit since school isn't out, the weather should be nice - not roasting like when we visit in August.

Should I reconsider and move the trip out to our normal August/July visit?

Thanks!

We're booked into DPP for 19-23 May! I, too, was dismayed to find out a few weeks ago that the pirate: premiere is on the 19th. But, after reading all the info on the boards, I'm not so worried anymore...

We weren't planning on going into the parks on the 19th anyway - we're driving from Las Vegas that day, so we don't need to worry about the early opening/early closing that is happening on that day. Also, if we were to get there early and decide to go into the parks, we would go to DCA which is open late that night.

I have phoned Vacation Planning and prebooked dinner at the Rainforest Cafe that evening, so we'll still be able to eat, even if the whole area is crowded.

I also gathered that the queues for rides at Disney on the 19th probably won't be too bad - after all, all those people are arriving early and just standing/sitting/waiting on the side of red carpet all day...

I'm assuming that the Sunday will probably be quite busy because of all the people who will have waited on the Saturday for the red carpet thing - but probably not as crowded as it seems to have been over the Easter weekend :yay:

If you see a family of 5 (mum, dad, 2 girls, 1 boy) with funny Australian accents during your trip - that will be US!:upsidedow
