This will be my first visit to Disneyland and I am starting to plan :)

Trying to decide if we will venture into the parks on our first evening. What are typical park hours for President's Day weekend and just after? Is Fantasmic shown? If so, what is the usual start time? Any guesses if WoC will be shown in February?

I am sure this will be the first of many questions!

Thanks in advance:flower3:

IMHO, being your first time, I would let your first impression of DL be in the morning not the evening. Main St is more alive with street cars and activity during the day and would provide a more fitting introduction to the 'Magic'. :wizard:

Yep. And, if I was paying by the day, I wouldn't want to start a day after the parades, shows, ships, etc. are already done.

Thanks for the responses!

Hydroguy, I checked out the links you suggested -great info!

Mike_M and jtown - good points on having our first view of Disneyland being the excitement of a brand new day on Main Street.

Unfortunately, we will only have two full days in the parks (Monday, which is Presidents Day and Tuesday) I am hoping that we can use our arrival evening (Sunday) to see either Fantasmic or WoC, see the remaining show the next evening and then have one evening where we take advantage of the crowds being occupied at the shows while we hit attractions.

It seems that idea isn't feasible because of the off season schedule for evening entertainment and reduced park hours.

If you had to choose between the two shows, which would you choose?

Usually in Feb the Remember Dreams Come True (RDCT) fireworks/laser/special effects show is playing. IMO that is the one to see. I rate that higher than Fantasmic. I have not seen World of Color yet (two weeks from tonight!) but there seems to be a fairly even split between people who prefer WOC over Fantasmic and vice versa. I would probably choose WOC if I were you. Also, if you try, you can see RDCT and Fantasmic on the same night. See RDCT at 9:30 and then hustle over to see the 10:30 Fantasmic. Alternatively, if DCA is still offering the 11PM WOC you may be able to work that in after a 9PM Fantasmic. So it is possible to see all the big three in two nights.

If it was me I would do RDCT and the 10:30PM Fantasmic on the first night and WOC on the second. :)

If RDCT is not showing then I would skip fireworks and see Fantasmic one night and WOC the other.
